On Friday October 17th I went into the restaurant for a soft taco. It was in the evening. There was a young man there. I asked him for guacamole on my tacos. The young man proceeded to pretend as if he didn’t know what I was talking about. He asked the young lady next to him. Then I asked for Mexican rice he steady tried to give me regular rice. I was given a teaspoon of everything. And to top it off when he put my qaucomole on my taco he took his hands and smeared the quaucomole on my taco. I’ve been trying to reach management but the phone number isn’t working.I just tried to call the restaurant it is 9:27 pm Rey wasn’t in . The rice I was trying to order was the Mexican rice. Today’s date is 10/18/2025 . I went back to the restaurant do to the owner offering me a free taco. This time there was a different sever at the taco stand. He told me not to call the owner anymore more . Because the owner plate is full . The the server proceeded to take his hand and wipe my quaucomole on my taco. The owner told me to call him about the complaint I had made. And I will never visit this restaurant again. The workers are nasty and...
Read moreWe've been eagerly awaiting the opening of Coyoacan and stopped in a few days after the "soft opening." Well... it is still very much still only softly opened, as less than half of the menu items were available (alas, no beer until July), and orders were placed via a Chipotle-style line rather than actual table service. That said, the food was pretty good - certainly better than Chipotle, though maybe half a notch below Cilantro Taqueria. With the exception of the chips (mid), everything else was fresh and well-seasoned and spicy. Yes, gringos be advised that all of their salsas are hot - the "mildest" salsa had a noticeably strong bite, while the spicy salsa was intense (smoky and delicious, but intense)! The restaurant environment and decor meanwhile were super charming, and all of the staff were friendly, if also still learning their roles. Overall it's difficult to give a rating since the restaurant is clearly not fully operational, but it was good enough that I'd definitely return in a couple months to see how things are...
Read moreFirst time at Coyoacan and although the food was good, first impression of walking in was a little awkward. I guess I was expecting an updated, new & modern Luchitas. Modern, yes. Not one individual welcomed me, as I stood looking around and clearly confused , looking for an actual host/hostess. Not here, it's a very small menu and a chipotle like line of meats, toppings and so forth. But Chipotle does not charge for water out of a soda machine and then you need to ask for ice. I can say I did enjoy my "bowl" I also can say the salsa is excellent and as good as I remember. The vibe was way off all the way around and being the only one in there made it a bit uncomfortable. And a side note, there is no hot,or even warm water to wash hands in the bathroom. Yes, one of the owners was there but it was clear that he and the employees were bored!!!!! Did I miss something? I think not. Will I try again? No! I really wanted to...
