Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers — Restaurant in Cleveland

I’m really disappointed. I was hoping it would be good, as this was my first time visiting. The “patties” were so thin it was just crisp. There wasn’t any meat really. I barely touched the patty and it CRUMBLED apart. The grilled onions tasted like they were soaked in pickle juice yuck! I had ordered the patty melt. My husband ordered the jalapeño burger and it was the same. $7/burger is ridiculous to not have a burger. My daughters chicken tenders looked fine though. That’s really the only nice thing I have to say. The fires were a little cold. It took around 25-30 minutes to get our order when it said it would take 10-15 minutes. I might give it a try again, but I’m really disappointed. I drove an HOUR to try this restaurant. It was definitely not worth it, at least this time. I’d rather go to the greasy Steak n Shake. I honestly doubt that there was 2oz of ground beef in the total of 4 patties we received.

Edit to Add: I forgot to review the onion rings and the actual restaurant. The onion rings weren’t bad. I’d like them to be less greasy, but that’s not really possible when you deep fry something 😅 overall, both my husband and I were pleasantly surprised. The onion to breading ratio was excellent, flavor was there, and the smooth breading is what I like (instead of the panko like breading). The restaurant seemed really clean from what I glanced at. I only went in to to use the restroom (which was also pretty clean!). I pulled a muscle in my leg and couldn’t stand for very long, so I just went to the restroom and went back to my car and my husband went in and got the food. So initially I was pretty excited about going here. I had passed it many times but never thought to stop. This particular day we were very hungry and couldn't wait thought it was a great idea. First it glance going in all the tables were greasy and dirty which was kind of a disappointment. My family and I had to find the least greasy table and clean it as well as the booth seats so that we could sit down. I don't know if they were short on staff this day but the place wasn't full of customers and there was plenty of tables to choose from. We ordered our meals and waited. After we got our meals I was sad to see how tiny my burger was luckily I ordered a double. The beef patty was surprisingly thin and they had put cheese and jalapenos in between the patties which made them look thicker. After eating the burger ..well, .it wasn't bad but it wasn't the tastiest either. For the amount of money I spent, I would have much rather have gone to five guys or some place similar. If you like extra thin small stringy fries this is definitely the place for you. I'd never seen fries as such. This is more of a personal preference for sure. Not my personal preference. They seemed small and tasteless. Again I'd never been here before so this was my first experience. With so many places available around town this is probably also the last. Kind of sad though because it does look quite beautiful and welcoming from the outside but the inside definitely left a lot to be desired as well as the food. Been wanting to try it out so decided to stop by today on my way to Knoxville, went through the drive though, the lady at the drive through was very nice and patient when taking my order.. however it took FOREVER to get through the drive thru - and they give you no option to leave once you’re in line .. so just stuck, sitting there, waiting, can’t go backwards, forwards around nothing for 25 mins, with only 2 cars ahead of us .. if I would have known it was going to take so long I would have went elsewhere.. when we finally get to the window the food still isn’t ready and we wait another 10 mins, we asked before we paid if the order was ready and she said they were working on it now which is why we went ahead and paid instead of just leaving… they are not short staffed at all .. just looking in through the drive thru window I can see 7 employees .. thats just looking in so not including the ones I can’t see - I saw the girl at the window say something about the wait time to another worker (this guy that just got done taking trash out because we watched him walk back and stop to hit his vape for about 5 mins) he just through his hands up at her and pointed to the counter- the wait time is beyond ridiculous .. FINALLY get the food and even more disappointed!! It’s one thing to wait for over 30 mins for a fast food burger and it’s another for the burger to be disgusting.. like not even close to eat and enjoy.. the fries where good but burger and wait was horrible .. horrible experience all the way around .. do not WASTE your money or...
