Wow! This place is in the cutest neighborhood. It's a small, friendly, quick, high-quality restaurant! There's only 4 seats inside and a few tables outside. We were lucky enough to be able to sit at the bar in two of the four seats. The service was so friendly and attentive to your every need. I believe it may have been the cashier's first day. He was even great, and you could tell everyone actually liked their job. Our food came out in 15 minutes or less and it was very hot and fresh.
The food, stellar. The items were all pretty classic, but you could tell they perfected the recipes. We ordered two "Betty's". That is the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich with a special sauce. The potato skillet and a cinnamon roll.
The bacon was thick cut, not too greasy, and cooked perfectly! We ordered our eggs fried, so what I didn't realize is that they put two fried eggs on there. It also had sliced American cheese and hollandaise sauce. It was 10/10. I wouldn't have changed a thing.
The potato was cooked perfectly. It comes with the special sauce on it, but I ordered it on the side, and I recommend you do the same. It's a little tangy, like lemon juice.
My cinnamon roll. I probably won't order that again. It's not a traditional cinnamon roll bread. It's missing that dough texture. It actually tasted a lot like the bread they use for the breakfast sandwiches and put icing on it. The icing on top, however, was very good! It was orange and vanilla bean!!! If they make changes to the dough, I could see that being a really good dessert. The ratio of icing to bread was also really good. I hate when people skimp on the icing. They did not.
Overall, my experience and food were amazing. I will definitely be back on my next trip to Cleveland. If you're considering,...
Read moreWe love getting Martha on the Fly as a treat when we are in the area! It's one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had. They're enormous (I usually split it into 2 breakfasts) with an awesome, fluffy egg and soft brioche. Most impressive is the meat, which can really make or break a breakfast burger. I always get the Doris; it tastes like a breakfast-ized smash burger patty. It's awesome, and if you like breakfast burgers, this is the best one in town. Some other good things to know: It's more of an order ahead, takeaway place. There are only a few bar seats inside. We usually place an order online and drive over, then eat at home or in a nearby park -- or you could order in-person and walk around Tremont while it's being prepared. The fries are a must! I like savory breakfast, so I get the sunshine sauce, but you can also choose maple syrup for a more "french toast" experience. Crispy and a nice corn flavor. I'm not sure exactly what is on the kitchen sink fries, it looked like maybe tomato jam and sunshine sauce and caramelized onions (it really is the kitchen sink) - these are great if you like a loaded fry and are really hungry. There is street parking out front that is pretty accessible during the hours they are open. There's a loading zone right out front if you just need to run inside, or you could park on the adjacent streets if you want to park and get out.
