The manager and the waitress were extremely rude, racist, and condescending to my group and me when we were there on 3/23. To start off, the manager came to one of our tables and said we were at the wrong table. We explained the host sat us here and she stormed off. She returned and literally threw waters at us rudely. Then after a while the waitress told one of our tables they had to leave early after seating them at the wrong table because a new reservation had to be sat. I raised my concern to the waitress about how this probably happened because we were sat at the wrong table. she immediately got defensive and told me I was being confrontational and walked away. The manager came by literally yelling at me and I asked why she was yelling. She said the waitress told her I was being confrontational and demanded for the manager (which I did not) she said she should’ve let us know about the time limit at the table and I agreed.
I go back to the other table and the waitress continued to tell my fiance how confrontational and rude I was. My fiance told me so when she came to me to check out, I explained to the waitress I did not mean to be confrontational and I just wanted to understand what was happening. I continued that the entire time we were joking around and laughing with her. We even told her she made the best espresso martini we’d ever had. I simply was just asking what happened. She responded by saying I was yelling and being confrontational right then!
This seemed to me like a huge micro-agression as I was the only black woman in the group and I kept getting labeled as confrontational and yelling when I was just wanting to know what happened. It was embarrassing and unsettling.
The waitresses name was brittney and I did not get the name of the manager. Even one of the employees was outside smoking a cigarette and saying how awful the manager was being that night! I will think twice before returning here. If you are a person of color you should...
Read moreFood Network and Travel Channel Best Burgers! Where to start? Cool enough place, I guess. But so many things. We were there at like 3:30 on a Wednesday. Music gave the “Saturday night 10 pm” vibe, which would be fine on Saturday night at 10 pm. The server was clueless and way more interested in lengthy conversations with the table behind us (the story about how someone threw up all over the floor is not what I need to hear when I’m eating.) The food was meh. The burger and fries my partner had were cold. There are better burgers out there, so I don’t know why anyone would claim “best” about those. My chicken was cold. And burnt. And dry. I spent way more time assuring the server that yes, I really wanted the Nashville hot sauce than it was worth. It’s hot. It’s not that hot. It’s also not good. It’s like a 12 year old went in the kitchen, found some bad hot sauce and said, “Let me make this really hot! I’ll dump a lot of spice in and that will do it!” That does not do it. It’s not offensively hot and not hot in a good way. Nobody took the time to develop any flavor in this. Ya want hot? B-dubs can’t cook chicken either, but Blazin’ sauce is hot. And still half decent on chicken. But I digress. We had a salad debacle, in which the server was told no fewer than three times it was to be a side salad. I guess she couldn’t hear over the music. Manager works that out, gives us a 10 percent discount and says he’d happily remake the food; just find him next time and let him know! Will. Not. Happen. Rotten way to start a vacation, but a learning experience. I’d say go for the beer, but there’s better beer in Cleveland too. They just don’t have those breweries...
Read moreMy best friend and I decided to try this very beautiful looking bar as a first stop on our much needed night out. As we had never been before, we decided to look around first (as much as you can on a busy Saturday night) before we went to the bar. Now, we are unaccustomed to the finer side of beer brewing and "fancy beer" as we like to call it, but we decided to give it a try. To put it in the mildest of terms, the bartender was rude. Not knowing the selections that were offered, we decided to name a beer we were most familiar with...Corona. The bartender (with the knottiest of top knots) yelled at us, and I quote, "We have NO MEXICAN BEERS"! (Emphasis his). This was quite embarrasing as we clearly had no menu in front of us and the guests in the immediate area stared at us. As if we had the audacity to order such a low brow brew. We were offended to say the least because we had not planned to go through a list of Mexican beers, hoping to find at least one. My best friend (who is Puerto Rican but can be mistaken for Mexican in the right light) asked if they carried another non-Mexican beer and bartender, exasperated at this point, shouted no and looked as if he wanted to boot us himself. So we asked for a suggestion. He pointed to the wall that, on the other side, had a list of beers and said "This is what we have". As you hopefully come to assume, we left. 10/10 for atmosphere. 0/10 for customer service. 0/10 for slight racism. It could have been our fault for coming on a busy night, but as I live in Michigan I only get to see my best friend once in a while. Anways, I liked the vine and openers of the bar, but I could've done with much better...
