I have a friend who is stuck on iced coffee which sounded really gross to me. Coffee should be HOT, I thought. My friend convinced me to try one while he was buying one. So, while in the new StarBucks in the West Park Shopping Center, I tried their iced pumpkin coffee whatever-it-is. Man, I sucked that baby down in 10 minutes. Then I cleaned my entire house, garage, and cut the grass. I can see why Starbucks is so popular. This stuff is liquid speed.
The store itself is very clean. There was an army behind the counter and one person doing nothing but cleaning everything. The interior is pretty cool with large windows and a patio area beyond. There were many people in the drive up and inside around 2 PM on a Saturday.
I sat down at one of the tables to wait for my pumpkin iced whatever-it-was and checked out the others in the room. Everyone was by themselves and engrossed in their laptops and phones.
Starbucks is definitely a hit with the younger crowd. I was the oldest in the building - by about 20 years. If I decide to hang out there more often, I will have to work on my man bun, get my nose pierced, and color my hair purple.
The new Starbucks in the West Park Shopping Center is just one of many coffee shops in the WP. ...
Read moreI have worked in the area for 7 years. 10/16/24 was more worse experience ever. It wasn't crowded, there was a staff of two people. The so-called barista was rude. I asked for Tall with steamed heavy cream and received a Venti that was lukewarm before I got out the door good. I asked why was this more expensive, she debated that it was the price and the other Starbucks have been giving cheating me (by under charging me?). I noticed it was a Venti after it was handed to her by the other employee that slumped out of the back of the store. I asked for lemon cake. The so-called barista said we're out of lemon cake. I saw pumpkin bread and asked for pumpkin bread, she immediately said we're out of lemon cake and chocolate chip cookies! Was this a bias? I repeated myself on the pumpkin bread but with her attitude she couldn't be trusted. Let me repeat seven years in the area which implies a lot of money spent (UH and CASE employee), and some kid left in charge makes you feel you're interrupting their day, and condescends about the technical "Starbucks name" for steamed heavy cream and half @# the service. Never again. Think about it, spent a lot of money in 7 years...put up with a lot of bad service but this...
Read moreWorst Starbucks ever! I was staying at a nearby hotel, and got coffee every morning from the Starbucks. I usually went just after opening expecting to have coffee available. On one occasion at 15 minutes after opening, there was not enough coffee to provide me a full cup, requiring the purchase of a Americano, which I actually don’t really like. I would’ve thought that because they didn’t have the regular coffee available that they would have discounted my cost for the Americano, but did not and ended up paying nearly twice what I would have for a standard grande cup. On two other occasions, the coffee was actually barely lukewarm. How can this be when the establishment has only been open for less than one hour! Don’t even get me started about not having a dark roast available in the morning, “because it doesn’t sell“. And offering me a pour over that will take eight or more minutes to prepare is not consistent with a busy morning work schedule. This is unacceptable. Nice people but kind of clueless. Lots of trainees. Worst...
