UPDATE: We have allowed some time to go by and decided to give them another chance. Pleasantly surprised; it looks like they've upped their game. Items ordered from the menu and made fresh are really tasty, and items from the "build you own" pre-prepared table are decent. Let's face it, anything that's been pre-prepared and left in a chafing dish is going to be a little dry, though better than I'd have thought. For the price, you get a decent serving and quite palatable dinner. It's not stellar, but if you're craving late night American Chinese, this will more than adequately fill that need. ............................................................................................................... Very disappointed! We've ordered here multiple times and have always been satisfied. It's never been the best, but always good enough in a pinch. Last night's dinner defies explanation. The menu from the website offers no explanation about the item and you'll only know what's in those standard items, like general tso chicken or sesame chicken; many of the others, not so much. But the uber app has totally different items, some pictures and some explanations. When I called in the order I was told that one of the items wasn't available, though it appeared on the uber app. They should get someone to help them set up an actual website with descriptive menu items and keep it up to date!
Onto the order: the pork eggrolls were so overfried they wre were burnt and cracked apart into a hundred shards and had barely any filling in them. They were totally inedible, and had to be tossed. My sesame chicken was dry, nearly sauceless, and had a slightly fishy smell to it. The broccoli was old and served in a few tiny overcooked pieces. Conversely, my husband's chicken and broccoli had broccoli that was almost raw and served with long stems and florets. I happen to like broccoli stems, so I ate those.
Overall, it was a dissatisfyingly unsavory meal, and a complete waste of money. We...
Read moreI came here once before and ordered General Tso's Chicken for lunch. Serving size was big and tasted really nice. No complaints to be had if you order General Tso's Chicken at lunch. I just had Chopstick for dinner tonight, and I must say I was a tad bit disappointed. I ordered the Bang Bang Chicken and Mapo Tofu with white rice and was left with mixed feelings. The chicken was pretty good (though in my opinion not as good as General Tso's), but the tofu was... just sad. I think it tasted rather weak with a lack of ingredients, though I won't nitpick regarding them. The main issue I had with the Mapo Tofu is the peppercorns. They should have been ground much finer than what I saw. Whenever I ate a chunk of peppercorn, the pungency and spice overtook any taste and lingered for a while. I'm not trying to spread hate or anything by this criticism, but I sincerely ask the restaurant to reconsider the way they use peppercorn in the Mapo Tofu. Other than that, I still think the quality of food here is really good from what...
Read moreThey've improved their process and the quality of their food. I suspect they're under new management, but I don't go there often enough to comment on that.
This restaurant is very close to work, but I generally only go there when a group is interested, so it's been nearly a year since I've been in. They've replaced the generic signs above the counter with flat screens, tweaked the menu items a little, and reasonably reduced the size of the side of sweet and sour sauce. Instead of a large half full container, it's a very full small container.
Instead of calling out your order and hoping the right person picks it up, they hand you a number when you place and pay for your order. Chopsticks, other utensils, soy sauce, and napkins are all out for you to pick up yourself. The need to communicate in broken english has been reduced as much as possible, though I'm pretty sure they all speak better english than I do.
I will make a point of visiting...
