I have been to this place many times and do recommend it. Today, was somewhat a little different. I noticed my drink came up at the usual pace but the food portion longer than necessary. The time of this visit was on the slower side for the restaurant so I was expecting everything to be flying out at the usual speed. The food did take longer due to vegetables being made for it. Definitely understandable but this is where I took one star off, after the food was set up on the window and ready to be served, the person at the register walked away and started helping make drinks. I looked over and the food was sitting there getting cold. A little disappointing as no one bothered looking at the window to bring the food to the front where I can go get it. It took about 4-5 minutes before someone noticed and then another minute to figure out what was going on with it before it was handed to me.
The person that put the food up in the window lacked communication with the person at the register. Nothing was said nor was a sign given about the food being ready.
Usually at a hectic time for this place, everything is as smooth as a hot knife running through butter. On average, a busy day I am able to get my specialty drink and food given to me in about 5-6 minutes, today, it was given to me in about 12-13 minutes. Pretty disappointing but since I was waiting for someone, I did not complain to...
Read moreThis would have been a 4 star review, because the winter melon bubble tea was delicious and the staff were awesome, but, when I went at around 6:45p today, the restaurant was too crowded for the room's floor plan. About 13 customers, all wearing masks, were ordering/ waiting to order/ waiting to pick up orders in a space that didn't allow for social distancing with that many people inside there. I don't think I'll be visiting Kung Fu Tea/Kenko while that many people are able to be in their bottleneck-laden space* at once. Maybe there could be a limit on how many people can be inside at one time?
Other restaurants that allow for indoor ordering and carry-out ask you to wait outside until your order is ready (Rood Food and Pie in Lakewood did well with this). I think Kenko/Kung Fu Tea should do this too.
*There's a half wall partition that takes up the middle of the room, and along the walls there are caution-taped table tops and bar stools. This leaves a narrow aisle for you to stand in while you wait for your order (about 4 feet wide), and makes it cramped when you try to pass people to collect your order (less than 2 ft between you and people you have to pass if it's crowded like...
Read moreI had never wanted to leave a place more. Let me say one thing first, the poke bowl I had was absolutely amazing. Now the downside, the staff 100% seem like they hate their jobs. I don’t blame them, if I was working somewhere as chaotic as this place I would too. The ordering machine for boba and teriyaki orders was down. So people coming in and cutting in front of everyone to order when they don’t even know what they want, leaving behind those that have been waiting to simply pay and finish their order is in no way a good system. You either have a different register open only for those orders or you have someone next to the machine that is suppose to be taking those orders to make people go through with ease. Also there were no fork. Then on top of that, no one was making the tea orders so waiting was annoying and making the wait area congested. And lastly, the staff had some sort of impatient attitude. I witness an employee snap in a girls face over the glass case to get her attention and roll his eyes. The food was good but the experience has driven away any want to go...
