⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Six-Star Review of The Roaming Biscuit – Cleveland, OH
Tucked away off East 36th and Superior, behind some weathered yellow doors on the second floor, lies Cleveland’s best-kept breakfast secret: The Roaming Biscuit. It might take a little hunting to find, but just follow the scent of buttery biscuits and sizzling sausage—you’ll know you’re close. Once you do find it, prepare to have your breakfast standards forever changed.
Let’s talk about The Humble. I had it with brisket—moist, flavorful, and melt-in-your-mouth tender. Then I tried it with the blueberry sausage and just… wow. Sweet, savory, perfectly balanced—it was unlike anything I’ve had before. Seriously, who knew blueberry sausage could be this life-changing?
My dad, a notoriously picky eater, went with The OG with bacon. He cleaned his sleeve and started talking about his next visit before we even left the building. That’s a win in itself.
What really stands out here is the care. These aren’t assembly-line biscuits. You can tell each one is handcrafted, made-to-order, and filled with love. It’s comfort food done at the highest level.
Special shoutout to Shaundra (hope I spelled that right!)—she was an absolute gem. Warm, welcoming, and full of helpful info. Even the fellow patrons in line were friendly, creating this communal, “we’re all in on the secret” vibe.
And the prices? More than fair for the thick, hearty biscuit sandwiches that arrive lovingly wrapped in brown paper sleeves. Worth every penny.
Whether you’re a local or driving in from an hour away, The Roaming Biscuit is more than worth the trip. I’ll be back. You should go. Honestly? I wish I could give it...
Read moreI went to this restaurant with my family, as my mom had read good reviews on it. Immediately as we walked in, we were greeted very kindly by the staff, and they walked us through the menu while giving us advice on what to order. In the end, most of us ordered the Brisket Egg and Cheese special, which the owner of the restaurant said was going to be available full time in the future due to the popularity of the biscuit. However, my mom stuck to her usual order at biscuit places, the classic Bacon Egg and Cheese. All of enjoyed our meals, and when we were almost finished, the owner of the restaurant, who is a black woman, making the restaurant both a black and woman-owned business, came out to check on us. She then told us the story behind her restaurant, which was that she had previously been working in the restaurant business, but did not see much representation of black people, let alone black women. That inspired her to open her own restaurant, and she informed us that the suppliers that she uses for her jam and lemonade are also either black owned or woman owned. All in all, the customer service was amazing at this place, and the food even better. If you ever find yourself in Cleveland, Ohio, you should definitely hit up The...
Read moreShawnda has created a haven and a delight! I have not had such wonderful food since I was a child eating my beloved grandma's Southern biscuits made from scratch, a recipe she perfected in her childhood growing up in Missouri and the South. They're light and fluffy, with just the right amount of buttery goodness.
The bakery and cafe are located in Tyler Village, a blooming and growing community area just outside of downtown Cleveland. The Cafe area is relaxing and has a great vibe. Chef Shawnda and her staff are friendly and helpful. One has the feeling of being invited to the kitchen and breakfast nook of an old friend for biscuits, sandwiches, and catching up over a steaming cup of morning coffee. Or if you're in a hurry, grab your sandwich to go! The service is efficient and the portions are gracious with reasonable...
