My family and I came in for lunch, we were a total of six people. We arrived a little before 12:20. One of the staff sat us and didn’t give us any menu’s. We had to wait 3 minutes to get menu’s, and 15 minutes to order the food. During those fifteen minutes the employees were taking orders and giving food to other customers who came in AFTER us. The waitresses were practically ignoring us in a whole. At around 12:40, we finally ordered our food. It took them 20 minutes to give us our order. When we got it, they forgot something we asked for. Overall, it was a horrible experience, the food was a 7/10 though. I had wanted to leave and go to the Dim Sum in the park to shop complex, but my family wanted to eat at a barbecue. They got upset by the end of it and thought it was a waste as well. The portions were smaller than we thought for the price. Dim Sum is definitely a better option, they have faster service and more reasonable prices. I was hoping for a great experience but this crushed my hopes. Honestly, Mcdonald’s is a way better option than this; I am not a fast food person at all, so that says a lot. I also thought that this would be great because it had TONS of good reviews, but most of those weren’t true. All of the 1-3 star reviews are what I experienced here today; I’m glad I’m not the only one who had this service. This is not worth the time or money. And to add, there are no Korean Barbecue’s near where I live other than this—and I am most definitely not...
Read moreMiega is by all means, an ethnic Korean restaurant. It is located within Asiatown at the "Asian Town Center" on the second floor of the building. Upon arriving, you'll notice several televisions displaying Korean TV, cultural decorations on the walls and severs dressed in traditional clothing. The service was decent, our server was polite but not all that prompt. She brought parts of our dishes out at different times, when the entire entree should have just been brought out at once, which was nerve wracking. There was only one other problem we encountered while dining here, it was hot, hot, HOT inside of the restaurant. It felt as if there was no air conditioning present whatsoever. Yikes. The food again, was very ethnic and could easily feed 6-7 people instead of the 3-4 the menu suggested. We decided on the hot and spicy seafood "hotpot" which again, is enough to feed a load of people, so don't order it unless you have a crowd of more than 4. It was certainly an interesting experience, as none of the actual seafood used in the hot pot is listed inside of the menu. Thankfully, I was able to identify most of it from having attempted to cook Korean dishes at home in the past. It was a pleasant experience, I enjoyed my surroundings the most and almost felt like I was at home, aside from...
Read moreI actually came to shop at the Asian market downstairs but it was closed for renovations and I saw the sign for the Korean BBQ upstairs so I went up for dinner. There was a family and a group of friends eating at different tables when I arrived. I was greeted and promptly seated by the friendly staff right away, which is fortunate because 15 minutes or so after I arrived the place filled up with several groups. I had never had Korean BBQ so I took a few moments to look over the menu. I decided on the fried dumplings, an octopus dish and a plum tea. Unfortunately they did not have octopus so I opted for the squid version. The server brought out my steaming cup of tea, it was in a Styrofoam cup so not very fancy but it was 16oz and very tasty. A few minutes later she brought the dumplings and the side dishes of vegetables. The kim chi was crisp with good acidity and a pleasant spiciness. I really enjoyed the pickled radish which was sweet initially followed by a mouth warming spice heat. The broccoli heads were perfectly steamed and the bean shoots were nice and fresh. The squid dish was listed as spicy but it was not overpowering spice heat. The squid was a little chewy but not enough to ruin the dish. There was more than enough to share between two hungry eaters. I will certainly...
