My family and I went here after Jumaa for lunch. I have a super picky 12 year old that literally only eats about 20 food items [you know fries and burgers and ketchup] and she was happy with the meat burek. We enjoyed the soups immensely. The bureks were eaten by all four of our "American eating' kids. My wife and I enjoyed the kebabs alongside the simple salad. The food is traditional Bosnian fare and so it's simple - but its prepared, cooked, and served with love and care. I honestly felt like we might have been in a village cafe somewhere in Bosnia - not in the streets of NJ. A great measure of the food is how it sits about an hour or two after eating and my wife who is generally very "reactive" to bad oils and GMO wheat / bad foods reported feeling satiated and happy afterwards as opposed to having a bloated stomach that one may have from eating "factory breads" with kabobs and fries at other halal cafes. The traditional Bosnian coffee [similar but sufficiently different to Turkish coffee] was also a treat. The "home made" sweets were also enjoyed by everyone. For a simple, wholesome, tasty, fresh meal served in a super clean cafe I would give this place 5 out 5 stars. More than anything else, its reasonably well priced - if not a steal. For six people who all had drinks, a couple of bowls of soup, a plate of kebabs, burek slices all round, a small salad, sweets, and coffee we paid around $110. Definitely...
Read moreI recently dined at Burek King, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with tasteful decor and a relaxed atmosphere perfect for both casual outings and special occasions.
The service was outstanding—our server was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations. The food was the real highlight: every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. I especially loved the Burek and Rosten Beef, which was perfectly cooked and well-balanced in taste.
Portion sizes were generous, and the pricing felt fair given the high quality of ingredients and preparation. To top it off, the dessert was a delightful end to a memorable meal.
I would highly recommend Burek King to anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying dining experience. I’m already planning...
Read moreI rarely leave reviews, but my experience at this restaurant was so shockingly bad that I feel compelled to warn others.
From the moment we walked in, the staff seemed irritated by our presence. What should’ve been a welcoming atmosphere felt tense and uncomfortable. The server acted as though we were a burden, rolling their eyes when we asked simple questions about the menu.
Things got worse when we politely asked the ingredients . Instead of answering politely , the staff member snapped, and shockingly, used profanity while speaking to us — in front of other guests. I was stunned. This is beyond unprofessional; it’s completely disrespectful.
There’s a difference between having a bad day and taking it out on paying customers. No one should be treated with hostility or insulted simply for expecting...
