I've been here 2 times this past week once on Wednesday evening with 1 best friend and 2nd time on Friday evening with 2 best friends and I have to say it is stunning, such an awesome place love the decor.
The whole aesthetic is beyond words. I love the old school European feel, the images on the walls, the music and most of all the food, desserts and drinks are 10 stars 🌟🤩 all the way!!!
This place far surpasses any other place I've been to this year. Cafe Bubamara does get packed to the hilt, so if you have time make sure to go early. They don't take reservations but it is soooooo worth the wait. They have an outside part in the front part of the establishment and also a wonderful garden area in the back. 👍
The staff is amazing, so on point and know their food. The desserts are out of this world tasty. They even have a strudel that's made to order. My friend had the cherry one yesterday and it was so flaky and delicious. The cherry filling packed with cherries was tart and sweet the perfect combination of both flavors. Like a burst of flavor in your mouth with a light dusting of sugar on top it was just so right.. Just like grandma used to make... now there is a place we can all come to, to experience old world culture and food ❤ ambiance and friends.
This whole heartedly is one gem of a place in the middle of Botany village in Clifton NJ. This is a place where memories are made and will make as the years progress.
There hours are very good 👍 the bathrooms clean. Important to me...
Super friendly and happy staff 👍 Owner also very nice and cordial. I only wish great success to them. I know they'll make it. This is a place that'll stay because of what it brings to the community. A warm and inviting place for the masses of people who love to dine out. There is nothing better than going to a place that you love to go to because of the way they make you feel. ❤ and because you love the food.
I absolutely 💯 recommend this diamond in the rough Cafe/Restaurant. Also a great place for a date or to meet your friends/family and enjoy your night.
What's another great thing is you don't feel rushed to get out like most places. As long as you are eating and drinking, all is good. But they do tell you (All is so good here! Because it is).
Come check it out you won't be sorry!!! Yum yum in the tum tum! 😋
This is our new fave place to go ❤ Hope that...
Read moreLocated at 263 Parker Ave in Clifton’s Botany Village, this establishment is set up well to take solo diners or large groups and transports one to Southeast Europe through both the food and the atmosphere since 2014. Café Bubamara translates from Serbian for ladybug (бубамара) where some of us haven’t returned to dine after 4 years. This is first come, first served, where reservations are not taken.
Upon arrival tonight for dinner, the vibe was warm, relaxed, and cozy, as if you’ve entered into a family member’s dining room with photos of notables from the former Yugoslavia era. The open-air patio area was like being in someone’s backyard, with plants, comfortable seating areas, and the music everywhere as my partner, our friends and I got a table right away. Space heaters were available for those cool evenings.
Their large picture menu offered traditional Balkan dishes such as common street foods such as burek (pie or pastry made of phyllo dough with a variety of fillings), cevapi (grilled Serbian sausages), and pljeskavice (grilled meat patty), as well as homestyle dishes such as popara (bread porridge), kacamak (maize porridge), and homemade strudel.
As an appetizer, we went for the Uštipci served with honey and feta cheese. For the main meal, we decided on the Skirt Steak Carne Asada Sandwich, Devrek (beef), Mediterranean Chicken, Balkan Burger, and Chicken in Mushroom Sauce.
The presentation alone was worthy of an order. The food was beyond amazingly tasty and well seasoned with fresh ingredients. The staff were friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about their cuisine, especially our server, Bernard. One doesn’t feel rushed to get out like other eateries. The portions were generous, and the prices were more than reasonable considering the authenticity and quality of the food.
This is obviously the type of place that patrons living within five or ten miles will make their regular local hangout. It’s also worth coming from farther distance for the unique items coming out of the kitchen, which we continue...

If you're looking for a cozy, vibrant spot to kick-start your day, Cafe Bubamara in Clifton is an absolute gem. A few days ago, my friends and I visited for breakfast, and we were thoroughly impressed by the whole experience.
The moment we walked in, we were greeted by warm, friendly staff who made us feel right at home. The atmosphere is charming, with a perfect blend of modern and rustic decor that gives the cafe a relaxed, welcoming vibe. It’s the kind of place where you can comfortably linger over coffee and conversation.
Now, let's talk about the food! The breakfast menu is diverse, with a little something for everyone. We opted for a mix of classic favorites and local specialties, and each dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The coffee was rich and aromatic – the perfect complement to our meal. It’s clear that Cafe Bubamara takes pride in using high-quality ingredients.
The portion sizes were generous, and we left feeling completely satisfied, without the heaviness often associated with big breakfasts. The menu also offers a variety of dietary options, which makes it an inclusive choice for all kinds of eaters.
Overall, we had a fantastic time at Cafe Bubamara. Whether you're looking for a quiet morning with friends or a place to fuel up before a busy day, this cafe is a top pick. We can't wait to return and try more of their offerings!
