I have gone to this place many times and as the years passed the quality has gone down. I have continued going not as much as usual but always giving it another try but today made me have to write this review. I wish I can give it a zero! ...I went with with my family and my son wanted to order waffles but was told they only made it for breakfast so he ended up ordering pancakes. I sat and only ordered a coffee. The pancakes were dry and tastless so immediatly we let the waitress know. After a few minutes the owner comes to the table with a big attitude asking why he did not eat it and returned it. My 10 yr old son said that he did not like it and that it was dry. He startes ranting that he has NEVER had any complaints about his pancakes. He continued by yelling and saying that next time just dont order it. I told him that is not the way to treat any customer and that I also tasted it and it WAS very dry and grainy. It was as if it sat there and was not fresh at all. He raised his voice saying that he has never heard of anything bad about the pancakes and again told me he shouldnt have ordered it. I told him that now that he mentioned that, I actually had a friend who told me that her daughter ordered pancakes and couldnt eat them because of a weird taste. She ended up letting her waitress know but nothing was done she just walked out. We ended up paying for our food and leaving with such disgust. That was the last time giving this place a chance. No more, especially because of the owners(George) rudeness and unprofessionalism. He needs to learn social and customer service skills....What he doesnt relalize is that I work for a big local company that has ordered lunches from there which I am responsible for placing. No more orders from there anymore, ever. Learn how to treat your customers and be courteous and respectful to your...
Read moreStopped in to New Corral after leaving the city from a Broadway show and remembering there was one more "all the way dog" spot I wanted to hit in Clifton. Went to Rutt's and Hot Grill a couple years back and have been meaning to come here for a while. Cool little old diner style place and the woman who was our server was friendly and attentive.
Tried out the All the Way dogs and some fries and my son got a grilled cheese. He said he really enjoyed the grilled cheese and he ate most of the fries himself haha. The dogs were solid, I'd put them right on par with the other spots locally honestly. I'm sure I'll get my head taken off by the "rippers from Rutt's are the best things ever" crowd, but the thing that makes the ripper for me is the yellow cabbage relish...the dog itself I didn't find to be any better than grabbing a dog here. The chili sauce had a great flavor but it wasn't super meaty. Dogs were cooked well and the rolls were fresh.
All in all I would say that these are definitely something to stop in for when in the area. Better or worse than Rutt's or Hot Grill? I don't know, I enjoyed them all honestly. The New Corral - Didn't Suck!

Read moreIt looks that ownership of the Coral changed hands recently. I dropped the rating to 3 for my last visit. We stopped for lunch, (a party of 2) there might have been five customers seated for lunch, as we walked in the host standing at the registers says just pick a seat, we did, and sat they are waiting for at least 5 minutes before someone came to take the drink order, after 8 minutes of waiting to place the food order, I had to go up to the register where assuming the new owner was standing, not acknowledging any of the patrons, and give him my order. I ordered 2 steak sandwiches with tomato, a few moments later the food came out, the steak was very tough and fatty, (not the same as the original corral) finished our meal, got the check, to my surprise there was $1.70 added to each sandwich for 2 slices of tomato requested. I guess this is my last visit to the Corral, I wish the new owners well, but if this is a sign of the new management, I see the...
