Long John Silver's | A&W — Restaurant in Clinton Township

Wanted to try this place for the first time ever this evening since I was craving seafood. So my husband went and got two meals for our kids and a meal for me (he doesn’t eat seafood).

The biggest issue was the service. The food wasn’t bad especially for it being what it is. Lobby closed earlier than it said it did and the employee stated they discontinued the lobster bites. My husband ordered despite them being rude and got home. They acted exasperated that he had to pull back around since he didn’t know what I wanted since the meal I asked for was discontinued. I opened the bag and there were only two boxes. We were missing a whole meal. A meal meant for one of my kiddos. My kids are young and not patient. I split the single meal in half while my husband tried to call this location. No answer after several attempts. My husband then drives all the way back and we don’t live close to this location at all. It was a major inconvenience when all we wanted to do was have a relaxing family night with something new to eat.

When he got back and explained that we were missing a meal, he was immediately accused of lying. An argument happened because he didn’t appreciate being called a liar and the worker was insistent that he was lying about the meal. As someone who worked in food, I am disgusted by this behavior. First we didn’t lie. We were missing a whole friggin meal and had to take time out of our evening to drive back. Our whole evening is ruined because of this. A whole family night down the drain and then to be accused of lying on top of that. Gas isn’t cheap either. As a previous manager in the food industry, I would never allow anything like that to happen. You don’t treat people that way. I know people lie and steal but to just go ahead and assume you couldn’t possibly make a human error. Cmon. It happens all the time. I’ve even missed food in orders. Sometimes you just got to accept that you are possibly wrong and forgot something.

Now this location lost a possible return customer. Yeah not a big deal but I will also make sure to spread the word starting with this google review. No one should do business here when they treat their customers like this. I’m honestly afraid to even feed this meal to my kiddos now because who knows if they tempered with it.

So disappointed in the service. It’s a shame because the food really wasn’t bad. Never again. It was a friggin like $10 meal too. I was debating about buying $80’s worth of crab legs but didn’t feel like cooking it. Not going to rip a business off and $10’s is such a petty amount to lose business over.

This place always looks run down and almost looks closed when I first brought up to the drive-thru. Luckily they were still open. The girl who took my order was extremely extremely nice. Beware that they got rid of the regular fries and went with a waffle style of fry. My chicken and my fish were very hot and very fresh but my fries, hush puppies and my coleslaw were extremely old, full of Greece and was dripping and was actually kind of gross. The girl did forget my coleslaw but I immediately went back through and she did end up giving me it. I can't blame her whatsoever as it was the end of her shift they're getting ready to close and as I said before, she was very nice and respectable. I love long john silver. I hate this location. The customer were just standing around when I first got there. I placed my order and it took at least 25 minutes to get my food. I watched a customer drive off because it took so long. There was a business man who came later that was complaining about the wait. One customer pointed out to me the old grease they were using. The gentleman that was giving out food didn't even know my order was done until i asked about it. He seemed to be emotionless...and appeared to be on something. The location is dirty.
