Los Rancheros Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Clovis

As a diabetic how often stop at a restaurant and just get a taco to hold me over between meals, which is exactly what I did when I visited this establishment for the first time. It was about 10:30 in the morning and only a couple other people in the restaurant so service for one shredded beef taco to go with pretty quick.

They have a full bar but it looks little hodgepodge. Overall the place was clean.

My shredded beef taco: just meh. The shell was chewy (which might be a good thing if you like them chewy – I don’t) and the beef a kinda dry. Nothing special about their salsa.

Can’t give them more than three stars for my taco to go at a cost of $4.27 — make it an even five with tip. Can’t give them less than three stars because had I ordered something different, like maybe a ground beef taco or an enchiladas, it could’ve...

I came here when this place took over El Matador (not knowing a new place took its spot) and liked my my food. Then my son ended up coming here, right before school started with some friends & was telling me how much he enjoyed it. I guess a friend of his family owns this place (something like that). So we came back last week being we were craving Mexican food. The food is good & really liked the chips! Hated the salsa, but that's whatever. We both ended up getting enchiladas (also comes with a tostada or salad) except his came with an egg on top. My son truly enjoyed his food & so did I, I also liked the enchilada sauce used. Had a bit of a different flavor compared to normal (what I've had).

Overpriced, and not very tasty. $10 for an order of guacamole (in a small Styrofoam coffee cup). Chip are extra! I had to drive in to order and pick up because the phone was getting intercepted by ATT,(tried 15 times!) and waitress convinced me it was my phone, but then told the next customer who complained about the phone not working that "I have it on hold". Made 1 dinner when I ordered 2 (I remember saying 'salads with both', and both with ranch dressing). First meal came out in 15 minutes, second came out in 5 min - bet it was made with lots of love.
