I want to sincerely thank the team for taking safety so serious and being prepared for all situations. I am one who has rafted several rivers over the many years.
Last weekend was an amazing experience with my boys and friends. The river is very high and fast moving with some very aggressive rides. On the last obstacle/wave of the day I got thrown out of the boat. I got caught in an funnel pulling me downward.
Earlier that day I didn't take it serious tightening my life jacket, and lucky for me my instructor did and went one by one on our boat and tightened mine up. Obviously the life jacket saved my life, but I truly believe if it had been lose as I had it I might not be here to write this. Don't get me wrong it was a serious situation and I feel I was under water for 30 seconds plus and it took everything I had to break free from being pulled down as the top water was rushing by at 4 times its normal speed. There were other things that I had to do during this situation that I was instructed to do during our safety meeting earlier that day that helped me in this situation.
I commend there team, the experience is terrific and beautiful. I plan on coming back next year, but I would also like to thank them for saving my life. I highly recommend Kings River Expeditions and please don't let this review skew you from attending or brining your family and thinking its too aggressive as that's not the case. It was jut a unique situation and we asked to be challenged, all the other boats went a different direction. Like I said in the beginning friends and their boys 13 & 15, and my boys 14 & 17. I highly recommend this expedition.

Read moreThis was our third year coming here, and it just keeps getting better every time. The river is absolutely incredible — stunning scenery and just the right mix of thrills and fun. The guides are fantastic: experienced, upbeat, and always make everyone feel safe and welcome. We highly recommend Trevor, Katie, Esteban and Carly, but honestly everyone is wonderful!
The food is always a highlight as well— hearty, homemade, and perfect after a long day on the water. You can tell a lot of care goes into every meal.
But what keeps us coming back year after year is the people. The owners, Casey and Veronica, are some of the kindest, most genuine people you’ll ever meet, and they’ve really created something special. The guides are warm & welcoming and we love hanging out with them. By the end of the weekend, everyone feels like family — whether it’s your first trip or your tenth.
The afternoons/evenings are filled with laughter, big games of volleyball, soccer or capture the flag, and unforgettable moments with new and old friends. If you’re lucky the guides will put on a skit for you that will have you dying with laughter. This trip they even had an amazing country band playing Saturday after dinner! It feels like summer camp for all ages, but with an epic rafting thrown in.
This trip has become a tradition for us, and we’ll keep coming back as long as they’ll have us. We cannot...
Read moreWhitewater rafting tour operator that offers 1, 2, and 3 day trips. Booked the 2 day tour for my dad’s birthday online in advance, and it was $350/person. You have the option to rent a tent (includes a sleeping pad) or bringing your own gear/car camping. They have RV toilets (the Driftwood Chateau) and no showers. It was my first time sleeping outdoors in a tent, and I must say that the sound of the river was very soothing. There haven’t been any bear or mountain lion sightings but there are apparently a lot of skunks. No wifi so it’s a good time to unplug. There’s cornhole, a sand volleyball court, and ping pong table.
The rafting trips were so much fun. Joseph was our guide both days (shoutout to Boat 15) and he was amazing. He confidently led us through the waters and made sure everyone was safe doing so. Wetsuits are Farmer John-style and mandatory. There are paddle jackets, helmets, and booties available to borrow. It’s Class 3 rapids and young kids were on the rafts (with their parents).
Everyone else was super friendly and worked hard to make our trip enjoyable. Saki was the director and was very helpful. The kitchen crew made solid meals and the groundskeeper kept everything clean and running smoothly. It really was a turnkey vacation where the only thing we needed to worry about was paddling...
