Today was our first time here. We called when they opened at 10am and was able to make reservations for the same day for their Sunday Brunch Buffet at 11am. On Sundays they only serve a brunch buffet for $25 per person and bottomless mimosas for $17 per person. They close for an hour to shift the kitchen and will reopen for dinner in the evening so be prepared for a brunch buffet if you come on a Sunday morning. Service was great. Friendly, fast and they checked up on us consistently. They even let a gentleman come in to check out what was being served on the buffet table before deciding to dine. I thought that was nice since it’s $25 per person. The place was nice and clean. They have patio seating in the front and back of the restaurant as well. They make eggs Benedict upon request which our server let us know since it’s not at the buffet table or a sign letting us know it was even an option. Today they had waffles, french toast, cinnamon rolls, fruit, bacon, sausage, potatoes, biscuits & gravy, quiche, salad with vinaigrette, mushrooms & asparagus, Mac N Cheese, Tri Tip & rice pilaf. The food tasted great and is good quality, totally worth $25 per person. I am someone who can’t make up their mind because I want to eat a little bit of everything so a brunch buffet is perfect for me. Also, breakfast is my favorite meal and I don’t mind paying good money for good food. If you compare to Denny’s and IHOP’s prices, you’re already paying more than half to what you’re going to pay at The Local and The Local has better food and service in my opinion. And, why not help a local establishment rather than a chain restaurant? If you’re wondering where else I’ve eaten for my local breakfast comparison? I shall tell you…Red Apple Cafe, Fresno Breakfast House, Benediction, Quail State, Huckleberry’s just to name a few. The Local is a legit place for brunch and I definitely recommend it. I’m excited to return to try their dinner menu as well.

Ordered a burger, didn’t have to wait long for the food to arrive. Asked for no lettuce or tomato, it came with but I could pick off, no big deal. Took a bite and noticed it was raw in the middle. Cut the burger in half to check the whole thing and it was definitely not cooked through. The waitress took it back and said they would bring out a new one. Burger came out l, again with lettuce and tomato on it and cut in half this time. While taking it off the burger I noticed a familiar looking bite mark in the patty. Realized this was the same burger. I cut it open again and notice it was still raw in the middle. The kitchen took the burger back, put the patty back on the grill (probably edge side, so it would “cook” the edges and not look raw anymore) and then served it back to me. First of all, crazy someone thought that was ok to do and that it wouldn’t be noticed by a customer. Secondly, 100% against food safety standards to take food back over the counter and put it back on the grill. Especially after having already taken a bite out of it. Sorry for the folks whose food was on the grill next to mine, they can rest easy the grill was shared with food that was previously in someone’s mouth. Overall this place was pretty disappointing and have no plans to return.

Sunday Brunch Review Only: This is my review on The Local's Sunday Brunch. We arrived early for our reservation at 10:15 a.m., we were the first customers. They had the food out in food warmers (see photos). The food was cold by the time I finished getting everything plated and back to the table. The eggs seemed like fake eggs, the bacon was cold and chewy as was the tri-tip. The tri-tip was also fatty. The crepe pancake was good with syrup. They had three salads, one being a fruit salad with mostly melon. They only had ranch and balsamic dressings for the two salads. We ordered the bottomless mimosas, but we're barely able to finish the first one they brought to us. It was super disappointing; we spent less than 40 minutes at the restaurant and over $100 for a nasty brunch. For the price the food needs to be better. The service was fine but we were the only customers there for the first 30 minutes.

My husband ordered a burger and asked for no lettuce or tomato, which they left on the burger - not really a big deal, he picked it off, no problem. But when he bit into it he noticed something was off, so he cut it in half and found that it was raw in the middle. I asked the server to send it back since it was not cooked, she apologized and stated she would have a new one made. When she returned a few minutes later with the burger, the lettuce and tomato had been returned to the exact same burger we sent back. They did not make a new one, they just put the two halves back on the grill for a few minutes, but the inside of the burger was still raw and my husband’s bite mark was still in the burger! Absolutely disgusting, not to mention the fact that they took food back behind the counter and re-cooked it which should never, ever happen. And to try to pass it off as a new burger by returning the same ingredients he asked to be taken off in the first place… not cool, not cute, definitely do not recommend this place unless you like raw hamburger meat and...
