First time visiting my parents took me for dinner, they ranted and raved about how great it was, but the experience was quite lack luster. When we first arrived we noticed the restaurant almost completely empty, but was greeted well and told to seat ourselves so we did. We ordered immediately because my parents knew what they wanted having been many times and they told me the Stromboli was excellent so I ordered that. After about 20 minutes the waiter said the food would be out soon, after 30 minutes we inquired about how much longer and was told "any minute now" after 45 minutes my father told the waiter "this is ridiculous" to which the waiter replied "very sorry for the wait, but we suddenly got very busy"...there were two other families in the restaurant besides us and regardless what does that have to do with our order? You becoming busier AFTER we ordered should have nothing to do with our food unless you are giving their orders precedence over ours. Somewhere between 45 minutes to an hour we received our food (stopped watching the time after 45 minutes) my mothers food was cool, and the Stromboli was extremely hot which tells a lot. I was not a big fan of the Stromboli, it was okay but I've had much better and my father said he thinks it might be over cooked. Anyway they did not even reduce our bill for the extensive wait time, not that it financially matters to me, I mean a few dollars off would have just looked good on them, but oh well. The overall experience was lacking so it's doubtful ill ever return.
Oh and this is to Bella Roma, please do not reply with some worthless, empty apology and state "we hope your next visit will be better" or some silly "copy and pasted" response, no one cares about that and it means nothing. If you cannot respond with a real and meaningful way then...
Read moreWhen we found this place it was a total surprise. I dont remember the occasion but we ended up calling in, with no menu ideas, had the poor staff that answered the phone more or less reading the entire menu to us, then we proceed to order pizza. I thought we should've gone for something new, something we already hadn't had 20 thousand times (exaggeration, yes) in our lives but boy am i glad we did. It is honestly the best pizza I've ever had. The handmade dough was perfect texture and so mouthwatering with the topping of chicken, spinach and alfredo sauce. The amount Alfredo sauce used was just perfect and didnt have too much. We've tried a lot of their different pizza and the pasta dishes. The Shrimp Fetticini is superb as is the Lobster Ravioli. My "go to" dish is the Past Sampler with Lasagna, Cannelloni and Manicotti . The dine in service is great and the wait staff so friendly and fast. The prices are in the med-high range depending of course on what you order. My Pasta Sampler runs 8.99 at least it was when i had it last. The plate is so full so i consider it a really good value. Even if a couple of dollars more, it would still be. The restaurant has a beautiful painting on the wall and the smell of the place when you first walk makes your mouth start to water. Its been my favorite restaraunt since it opened at...
Read moreUpdate: this is now our 2nd time in one week. We can't get enough of this place! Tonight I had the eggplant Parmigiana, i can't find enough words to express how delicious this was. My husband had the sampler of 5 different dishes. Nothing less of spectacular! Seriously, I can't even imagine eating anywhere else. This is the absolute best Italian restaurant in the Gulf Coast area. I am very picky about my Italian food. I'm an Italian girl from the East coast, so I take my Italian food seriously. My husband and I came here two weeks ago and had the pasta trio, and a medium pizza. We loved it so much- we returned again tonight with my brother in law that just came home from a tour in Japan (Marines) we were treated like family. The wait staff was so attentive filling our drinks filling the bread, and even brought a piece of AMAZING Italian cream cake for my brother in law. He devoured his chicken Piccata, and the cake. I cannot rave enough about their sauces. Both Alfredo sauce, and (marinara)red sauce. The pasta was cooked fresh, and cooked perfectly [ al dente] the pizza tasted just like real NY pizza. The portions are huge, the sweet tea is delicious. I can't wait to return and try another pasta dish. We have found our favorite Italian restaurant, and you should too! 100% homemade authentic Italian...
