MISSION BBQ — Restaurant in Cockeysville

I have patronized Mission Barbecue a number at differnt MD locations and this one is one of their better locations. My pork barbecue sandwich was served hot and the side dishes were filled properly without being watered down. The sandwich bun was not as fresh as I hoped it would be, but it was still okay. The Cole slaw was outstanding, and it was unexpectedly good. The Texas barbecue sauce was thick and tasty. There is no question this location is superior to Frederick maryland and Slightly better than w Westminster maryland. About the only complaint was again with the order taker and cashier. I repeated my order twice, yet order taker/cashier still got it wrong. But, to his credit he corrected himself and the order, as well as charged me the correct amount. I like Mission Barbecue and I will be back to Cockeysville MD location. The Westminster Maryland location could take a lesson learned from the Cockeysville MD store by serving the pork barbecue sandwich hot, and filling the side dish containers. For some reason the Texas barbecue sauce is watery at the Westminster maryland and Frederick locations but it was not at cockeysville. I do know that the Cockeysville maryland location is the newest of the three. And I will return to cockeysville...

Recently stopped in here twice in the span of a few days...once with my daughter and grandkids and once with my wife returning from surgery at the VA hospital. The food is always great. The portion they gave me for my chopped brisket sandwich without the bun lasted for several days and through a couple of grilled gouda cheese sandwiches at home.

But it is the service that prompted me to write this...particularly the service of one man - Larkin. He was there both times and he is an absolute treasure. While my daughter, her friend, and I took turns in line to order our food while watching the kids, he brought the kids a tray of french fries to keep them occupied. What a blessing to have hungry kids distracted and satisfied by fries! He made repeated trips by our table to make sure we had what we needed. Larkin also took care of my wife a few days later after she helped me in for a post-anesthesia pit stop.

This is a man who loves people so stop on in and let Larkin show you a little love and be sure to give him a little in return...and get some great BBQ at...

Mission BBQ knocked it out of the park! From the moment we walked in, the service was top-notch — warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. A huge shoutout to Mr. Larkin — he was absolutely amazing! Kind, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect. You can tell he loves what he does, and it shows.

Now let’s talk about the food… WOW. The baby back ribs were next level — fall-off-the-bone tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. I could’ve eaten a whole rack by myself (and almost did!). The sides were just as delicious — comfort food done right.

Everything felt like it was made with love and served with a smile. I’m already planning my next visit. If you’re looking for great BBQ and even better customer service, this is the place. Mission...
