Family, friends, and I have been coming here for a couple of years now— It was fantastic- Key word: WAS. The environment has completely changed and we honestly didn't feel welcomed there. The employees look miserable. $2 upcharge for adding Cheeto dust to corn? $3 for a side of cheese? We can't push tables together AFTER WE WERE TOLD WE COULD to accommodate for our party of 5. W H A T?
My party came in, we were told to seat ourselves, but we're a party of 5 and there are only tables for 4 available. The tables for large parties have reserved signs on them. So we ask the bartender if we can push the tables together and they give us the greenlight. We do that, and sit down. 5 minutes later, another person comes up to us- before any formalities- and tells us that we need to separate the tables, we're not allowed to push them together. We explained that the bartender told us we could, and he said that he was the manager and was telling us we couldn't. I told him in that case, we would need extras chairs to sit. He proceeded to tell us we can sit at the reserved table. Ok then, I wish someone had told us sooner to avoid all of that.
We sit there. Our server is fantastic, nothing bad to say about him. We all ordered our food, came in a timely manner. My friend's burger had buns that were so saturated and fried in grease that it hardened? He didn't even eat his burger. And then another friend ordered a milkshake, and asked if she could add chocolate to it; something she's been doing since we started going there and never had issues with EVER. She's told that she can't, because the owner won't allow it and the employees could get introuble. Uhh..
God bless those employees if they have to deal with ownership like that. The atmosphere is so cold and unwelcoming now, not how it was years ago. Did you guys change ownership or something?
Food & service get 3 stars because our server was awesome, and most of the food was decent, but not for the prices you have. Your quality used to be impeccable, it seems to have gone down. We'll just avoid eating at BRGR STOP. I can only hope the Ft. Lauderdale location has different ownership, but I doubt it.
It sucks to see such a cool place do a complete 180° like this, hopefully something...
Read moreOrdered a double smash burger and was told by the waitress that I couldn't change the cheese.. that is was "not possible" to change the cheese... I fail to see how hard it is to pick up a different slice of cheese for my smash burger. Weird, never been to a place you can't pick the cheese for your burger.
Larger group (a group of 5 and a group of 6 separately) came in while were there and wanted to sit together, someone came out and loudly announced that they couldn't push the "booth tables" together. Those tables sat empty the entire time we were there and through the 6 tops meal.
Took about 40 mins to get burgers for a late lunch, another 20 mins after food was done to get milkshakes.. nearly 2 hrs to get and eat lunch and pay.
Food was good, burgers tasty but not epic, truffle bacon Mac was delicious, truffle burger was good. All in all, not bad, but weird rules and not picking your own cheese at a burger place is just very weird. Milkshakes delicious.
Edit to respond to owner; The cost standpoint is understandable, an upcharge would've been fine to get the burger the way I wanted it. The "build your burger" option wasn't presented when I asked simply "So I can't get ghost pepper cheese on anything but the ghost burger?" I was informed 2 other specialty burgers, that I didn't feel like having today, could have that cheese. Good there's an option, it could be communicated though, regardless of if it was missed on the menu. Like I said, wasn't a bad experience per se, but definitely not a 5 star experience hence the, I believe fair, 3 star review. The breakdown I gave shows it, 2 star service, 4 star food, 3 star atmosphere = 3 stars. Still gave a 20% tip so it wasn't all bad. :)
But yes, I've seen cheesecake factory move tables, in fact Im not sure I've been to a restaurant that doesn't allow tables to be moved for bigger parties, even this is moderately understandable given the size the of the dining room though. The reasoning could be explained to customers vs someone just coming out and saying "you can't move those! Bosses rules, but I don't know...
Read moreBeen seeing this place for a while so decided to give it a try. other reviews state that the cheesesteak is really good. I must have went on the wrong day because this was not a good experience. Service was ok, atmosphere ok but as soon as I walked in I smelled something burning and it was very smokey inside the restaurant not sure if that's how it always is, just glad I took my food to go so i didnt sit in that burning smokey dining room. I ordered the cowboy bourbon burger subbed the fries for onion rings and ordered the cheesesteak because it was a special on Thursdays for $5 off.. As soon as I got in the car the burnt smell followed plus a very funky smell from the parmesean truffle fries (that's what comes with cheesesteak they told me). Hate to do it but I have had many other cheesesteaks and this one is not anywhere near the top unfortunately. Not sure who worked the grill this past Thursday evening 4/25 but the food I got all had too much char/burnt taste. not sure if it was the meat or the bread or maybe both. I ordered my burger medium well because I don't like pink burgers but this thing was well done and the onion straws on it were also chared ruining the burger. So the cheesesteak is infused with duck fat never had that before maybe that's what gives it a funky taste. It's just too unbalanced either the fat is to over powering or they need to use more onions and cheese, maybe even a different cheese not sure. I should have just gotten regular fries, the parm truffle fries had way too much on them made them soft and just overpowering taste wise. Onion rings were really good and the portions for all the food were good size, wish they gave more onion rings for the upcharge. however due to the burnt tasting meat and bread and other issues stated we only ate about half the food. Had to eat some because I paid over $40 and that's with the cheese steak "special". Plenty of other places to get a better cheese steak and burger for that kind of money. Sad because the portions are decent and its close to home, but burnt, fatty, and funky taste is...
