I really don't like to leave bad reviews because I'm in the industry and I know what they can do to a place, but I just need to call attention to this issue so hopefully it can be fixed: I went here on my way through ATL and asked the gentleman who was at the front helping folks order if he knows what I can order that's gluten and dairy free, and specifically asked about the sauce on one of the dishes. He didn't know, and asked someone behind the counter who looked like a manager if the dish was gluten free, and she clearly didn't know but told her co-worker 'let's go with yes' (that it's gluten free).
I saw and heard the exchange, and then asked for their allergy matrix. She said she didn't know what that is, so I explained that it's a chart telling the team exactly which allergens are in each dish. I'm pretty shocked that a food place in an international airport doesn't have this kind of basic tool, because if you tell someone with celiac that the dish gluten free and it's not, you could kill that person. Yes I'm being dramatic because it's that serious.
I'm only hoping that this review can serve to help this spot create the matrix and train their staff, because the food was quite good (although I'm pretty certain the sauce DID have gluten, but thankfully I'm just really sensitive to it and...
Read moreOk, before I even get to the food, I need to give the biggest shout out to Mr. Ron. I can’t remember the last time I had such incredible, authentic customer service and hospitality.
I was just getting some work done at a nearby table after a redeye flight, and just as Fresh to Order opened, one of the friendliest human beings on the planet came up and asked me if I’d be dining with them this morning.
I looked up from my laptop and saw the healthy breakfast choices and said I would. I’m not sure if I would have if it wasn’t for him asking me.
The line was short at the time and moved quickly, the pricing is VERY fair for an airport, the food was good, and the gentleman who took my order was great (which can sometimes be a rarity for 6am!).
Meanwhile, Mr. Ron was making sure EVERYONE was taken care of. No one was in want of napkins, a crumb on a table was erased from existence within mere seconds, and no sooner had I closed my carton after finishing than Mr. Ron offered to take care of it for me.
This man is a treasure, and not only an indispensable asset to Fresh to Order, but to the airport itself and the human race at large.
He says “We are so glad for everybody,” but for anyone who has had the pleasure of interacting with him, we are all so glad...
Read moreAs someone who follows a pescatarian diet, my meal choices can sometimes be limited. My go-to option is usually salmon if I spot it on the menu—so I was excited to see a salmon panini available.
I was fortunate to have Sy'Dajah take my order, and I asked if she had tried the salmon panini herself. She said she had and enjoyed it. I joked that she was probably just saying that to make the sale, but she confidently recommended it—and even suggested I add hot sauce for an extra kick.
Let me tell you… the salmon panini was phenomenal! The salmon was cooked perfectly and paired beautifully with corn, lettuce, and avocado. It was flavorful, fresh, and hit every mark. To top it off, Sy'Dajah later told me she made the panini herself—she’s officially a chef in my book! Her customer service and friendly demeanor made the experience even better.
But the great service didn’t stop there. I also want to give a shoutout to Mr. Ron, who greeted everyone who passed by with warmth and positivity. Chatting with him while I waited for my food was such a pleasure.
Thanks to Sy'Dajah and Mr. Ron, I’ll be recommending Fresh To Order to everyone I know—no hesitation. And if you stop by, be sure to tell them Reda invited you to the cookout! And hope to see them...
