This place is an absolute disaster. From when we were sat to when we left was an hour and a half, for two people. The server took our drink orders and then disappeared for 25 minutes or so. Then when we asked the host to get her so that we could put our food order in, she came back to our table and said “you needed me?”. When we said we wanted to place a food order, she told us the kitchen was backed up and she couldn’t take our order. Several minutes later, we were about to leave without ordering, but she came back and said we could order food now and advised it would take 25 minutes for food to come out. After another 50 minutes, our server came back with someone else’s food order, which we said was not our food. Then she asked what we ordered. Seriously? She walked away with the food and we asked the host to get her so that we could just close out without our food. As we were standing up to leave she showed up with one dish we had ordered and then a few minutes later came out with the second one. (We ordered two cheeseburgers with fries, no substitutions). The fries were wrong but we were hardly about to send it back. We had to scarf it down as fast as possible to make our flight. She did take the food off our bill and closed us out quickly, which was appreciated. Other tables around us were turned over multiple times while we were there so not sure what the issue was. Either way I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. Traveling is stressful enough without burning a 2-hour layover, which should have been plenty of time, at this place. If you have all day to wait and dine, the food itself is...
Read moreJust had the most surprisingly enjoyable experience at Gordon Biersch in the Atlanta airport, all thanks to an absolute gem of a bartender named Tai. My flight was delayed for a solid 2.5 hours, which usually spells misery, but Tai completely turned it around. She's truly phenomenal!
What really struck me was how many other customers were clearly her "regulars." Having regulars at an airport bar?! Unheard of. That tells you everything you need to know about how amazing Tai is at her job and how amazing she is as a human. She's got that perfect blend of being incredibly efficient and genuinely friendly.
Beyond the stellar service, the food was actually fantastic. I went with the Fish and Chips, and honestly, it was way higher quality than I'd ever expect from an airport restaurant. Crispy, flavorful, the whole nine yards. And the beer? Ice cold and exactly what I needed after a long day (that got even longer!).
The whole operation seemed like a well-oiled machine, which is exactly what you want when you're trying to grab a bite and a drink before a flight. No stress, just good food, great drinks, and exceptional service.
Seriously, Gordon Biersch at ATL might just become my new regular spot whenever I'm passing through. And a massive shoutout to Tai – you're a...
Read moreThis has got to be top 10 worst restaurant experiences. If I wasn’t so exhausted from my trip, I probably would’ve walked out and ate somewhere else.
I asked if I could sub chicken for fish in the tacos. My server says she’s gonna go check. Grabs me a beer, and 15 minutes later she comes back with the plate. Alright, cool. I thought she just forgot about me.
The beer arrives, and there’s some gunk floating at the bottom. When I ask her to replace it, she tries to tell me “oh, that’s just the acid in the beer bubbling up” She looked a bit more closely and realized that was not the case. She took a while to replace it.
As I sit there staring at this beer I’m not about to drink, wondering where she is, I notice a worker just walking laps around the restaurant acting like he’s cleaning. I watched him bend down and pick up part of a straw wrapper only to leave another piece of trash riiiiight beside it. I began to notice the place was kinda dirty.
The tacos come. Mind you, they’re supposed to be grilled chicken. There’s nothing grilled about this prefab, exxtra-dry, gray chicken. There’s even an ice cube in the taco for good measure.
I sigh, remove the ice, take a bite, and end up removing most of the chicken only to eat the...
