We were really looking forward to grabbing a quick bite at Shake Shack in Terminal A, but unfortunately, the experience was far from what we expected. Despite having a large group of employees behind the counter, only a few seemed to be actively preparing food, while the others were gathered in the back talking. This resulted in a long wait of over 20 minutes for our order, even though the line wasn’t that long. What really surprised me was the loud and frequent profanity coming from the back area. It was very noticeable, and not something I’d expect in a family-friendly or professional setting—especially in a busy airport terminal. It made the wait even more uncomfortable. When I finally asked for shake sauce, I was told, “We don’t have any,” and when I followed up by asking if any was on the burger, I was met with a dismissive and rude, “Did you hear what I said?” That level of attitude was completely unnecessary and uncalled for. As I walked away with my wife and child, I couldn’t help but feel judged by the glares and unpleasant looks from some of the staff. The food was fine once we got it, but the overall atmosphere and service made this a very disappointing visit. Definitely not what we expected from a brand like Shake Shack.

Note: I have Celiac disease so I can’t eat gluten. I used the Find Me Gluten Free app to look for a safe meal option at the airport, and was baffled with the amount of reviews of people getting sick from the restaurant options in the terminal I was at (Terminal T). Thankfully, Terminal A is right next door and with a slight flight delay I was able to hop over to Shake Shack as that seemed like the safest place based on reviews (PF Changs is also in Terminal A!). A lot of the reviews said they handed you the burger clearly marked as GF, but that was not my case (I ordered the cheeseburger, with avocado). I asked the guy who handed me my food to confirm the bun was GF and he said it was, so I went on blind trust. Before ordering I read that their fryer is not dedicated to fries, so I did not have fries. They also disclose on their site that the shake shack sauce does not contain gluten but it is made in a place that processes gluten, so to be safe I opted out of it and just asked for ketchup and mayo. Thankfully the blind trust paid off after thoroughly reading up through the reviews here to know what was off limits, and I did not get sick!

I think the burgers have shrunk! Shake Shack has been slowly going downhill over the few times I’ve visited in the past 1-2 years and this location is no exception. Most of the staff was friendly, with the exception of the cashier who was very rude, dismissive, and spent the first 30 seconds of me standing at the counter talking with a coworker about something completely unrelated to work. I don’t expect much from the hustle and bustle of airports, but this was over the line in my opinion and extremely rude. The food is also overpriced for the value and quantity you’re receiving. I’m happy to pay $7-$8+ for a burger, but the quality also needs to be there—I did not experience it at this location. I do not recommend this Shake Shack, especially if you are in a hurry or on a semi-tight budget. There are better options out there for price, quality, and quantity of food.

To Shake Shack's benefit I will say that the burgers looked delicious (the ones on the warmer), but after spending 10 min in line and still not being close to being waited on (there was only one person in front of us) we decided that waiting for one of those burgers might not be worth it.

There were three people working but all three were as slow as possible. I've worked fast food before and understand that its hard to keep a hustle all the time, but this was during lunch rush and there was no motivation at all. The laziest crew I've ever seen. It would be more understandable if they were serving a bunch of orders, but only one order went out in that 10 min, and only one other order on their order board. Also, there was a sizable line behind us. Despite this they felt it necessary to slowly restock bagging area and one appeared to be taking an inventory list instead of taking orders. The only one who looked like they were even serving customers was the person on the grille (who was also moving very slow)

There were three burgers on the warmer when we got there and only one was taken off in that entire time, which made me wonder if they were pre-making burgers before they were ordered.

We only had 25 min before boarding our next leg, but after waiting 10 of those watching them make one order did not give me confidence that they would be able to deliver on time. What a shame. This place is in real need of some motivation and better...

Wow, what a disaster! I made the most of visiting the location in Terminal A in Hartsfield Airport today the service could not be worse. The line was very long but we finally got to the front and ordered at about 5:30. The cashier was actually pleasant and took our order. However, getting the food took way too long and the employee who was putting bags together was a study in insolence and indifference. Could not be bothered. I inquired a couple of times about our order and she said she could not control when orders got ‘shuffled.’ This despite the fact that she was printing out the tags and attaching them to bags. She served a number of people that ordered substantially after us first. When we finally got called I observed that our bag had been on the counter fir a while, and it had because I watched them get out together. She basically shrugged as if it did not concern her at all. Needless to say the burgers were dry and not as hot as they should have been. Personally, I also prefer that the fries be salted as well but evidently that task was too challenging. Thoroughly Poe performance and you have convinced me that as a customer I...
