I will preface this with the fact that we only went here because Roadhouse was closed next door and we were so hungry we figured what the hell, we never eat at Cheddar's. As our meal progressed I slowly began to remember why. Our food was delivered barely warm, not enough to really have it fixed or say anything, which I don't really ever complain or send food back so it does take a lot for us to do that, but it was too cold to really enjoy. My husband's side salad was so cold that it had ice crystals in it. He had the steak and chicken tenders plate, the steak was just not good and he was disappointed. The chicken tenders batter was soft, I think they had been done for a while and got soft and they were so so bland. I ordered the Chicken fried steak platter because that's what I wanted from Roadhouse lol.. The Texas toast was just toast, nothing "Texas" about it, not a big deal but with mashed potatoes and gravy I was kinda looking forward to my Texas toast. The chicken fried steak was so tough I couldn't chew it. The broccoli casserole was really good though so i was glad I subbed it for the green beans. The mashed potatoes were just meh and again barely warm. The croissants were the best thing we had so thankfully we chose to pay for bread, yep, pay for bread haha. We were absolutely starving when went there so honestly we weren't too hard to please and unfortunate they did not succeed. I thought maybe my standards weren't fair because I really had my heart set on Roadhouse, but idts though because I left 3/4 of my food on my plate because it just wasn't good and I couldn't eat it even though I was so hungry. I also left with the feeling of being kinda ripped off. Also I had to eat a bit later because I was hungry... If that had been Roadhouse, I wouldn't be able to eat until the next day lol. Was it absolutely horrible and I'm so upset, no, but we won't go back because it's not good and especially not good for a $40 lunch...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI really don't know how to rate my last experience here. Let me start off by saying I called in a To Go order. The young lady on the phone was friendly, upbeat, professional, and helpful. Upon entering the restaurant, the host, Ben, greeted me with a smile and warm welcome. He then escorted me back to the To Go area. The young lady who assisted me there was again more than accommodating. The atmosphere here is always welcoming, and the employees go above and beyond for you. Now, the downside of this visit, I arrive at work and sit down to eat my fish and chips (although I substituted broccoli and rice for the fries). The fish is a golden brown, I take a bite, and it is undercooked. Quite a bit undercooked. So I ate the broccoli & rice along with my croissant roll. When I phoned the restaurant, the young man who answered the phone (who will remain nameless) was pleasant and apologized for the undercooked fish. I explained that I wanted to bring it to the managers attention. I also stated that I wasn't upset but thought I needed to bring the issue to the managers attention for a couple of reasons. First and foremost, they needed to know that the quality of food was coming out of the kitchen less than the standards that I've come to expect from Cheddars as a semi regular patron. The young man stated that he "didnāt know what to do in this situation but next time I came in I could mention it but he didn't think they could do anything." He took down my name and phone number. To date, no one has contacted me. I think this this situation should be a training moment from management to front-end staff. Secondly, I would've appreciated management offering me a replacement meal since I couldn't eat the fish I paid for. I guess next time I'll be one of those customers and demand a manager and throw a fit until I get my money's worth. ...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst off: to be fair, we have eaten here in the past with no issues. So tonight, I took my wife to Cheddar's for her birthday. We ordered drinks, she a Painkiller, and I a frozen margarita. Our server took our drink order, and retuned shortly with a Painkiller, and a regular margarita on the rocks...not what I ordered, and the server was apologetic and went back for the correct drink. Due to the need to wear masks, and the rather loud sound level, I could see how he could have gotten it wrong. He came back, took our appetizer order and our meal order. I asked for straws but he just turned and walked off. After 5 minutes with no straws, we used the little electronic kiosk on the table to request our server. About 20 minutes later, another server spears with a tray that I thought was the chips and queso we ordered but was instead our meal. I asked what about our appetizer order, and he said no order for an appetizer was turned in for our table and offered to bring it or make sure we were not charged for it. I told him to cancel it, and asked for silverware (which should have been given us when we were seated - and which also contained straws!). Now, the food was good, no complaints there. I had a chicken tenders meal, while my wife had tenders and shrimp. But...she ordered chicken tenders with coconut shrimp - and got grilled shrimp, she asked for gravy and got ranch dressing. We were too disgusted to complain at this point, and I decided I was not going to be able to trust myself if I did. Cheddars has always been a good place to eat, we have never had such poor service, and I would still recommend them. Buy my wife's birthday meal, while not outright ruined, was this night sub par. We'll be back, but next time if we have an experience like this, the manager is not going...
