Ernie's Crab House — Restaurant in Colmar Manor

Hidden gem in Brentwood/Colmar Manor MD! Tiny spot that you will miss if you're heading north on Bladensburg Road to 201 or 450. The blue crab prices were a tad pricey this deep in the summer but the quality was top notch!

We ordered a half bushel of large male blue crabs, 5 clusters of snow crab legs and 2 lbs of steamed shrimp. The most pleasant surprise? They cooked our order immediately afterwards! No stacked up precooked crab or shrimp, fresh! It was worth the 30 minutes wait for the order because the steam coming out of our bags when the order was up made it all worth it!

The shrimp were cooked to PERFECTION. Tender, sweet with the perfect amount of crab spice. The crabs were meaty, tender and melt in your mouth. The family was happy when we arrived and just about everything was demolished!

The gents behind the counter were friendly, helpful and efficient in getting orders taken and handed out to those that knew to call ahead! Well now I know too. Definitely will be back to Ernie's crab House...

The service is cool, though I had one older male get smart after he noticed me taking photos of the menu. He said something along the lines of, the prices changing daily which is why it's on a chalkboard. Mr. Sir could've simply stayed in the back and minded his business. I think the other guy noticed he did too much and continued being his nice self.

I have come here many times now because my godfather put me on to their jumbo crabs. He swear by Ernie's. The crabs are almost always good. I really feel like they have thrown a few Large crabs in the mix of the Jumbos because the 3-4x I've been here it never fails, at least two of the crabs seems to be on the Large side.

I love their crabs❣ We've heard about this place a long time ago and I don't know why it took me a long time to check them out. This place is clean and they have a variety of seafood. We took the crabs, steamed shrimp with amazing spices, and frozen xl soft shell crabs home because I do not think you can eat there. The crabs are heavy and meaty, the shrimp is very flavorful. The man at the counter was nice and he explained to me how to cook the soft shelled crabs. I haven't cooked it yet...maybe this weekend. I will definitely go back there.
