Bottom Line Up Front: Barns store manager was belligerent and verbally abusive towards my wife and told her “Don’t come back HO!”

I’ve been a regular CHeBA Hut customer since 2012. My first experience was at the Denver, CO store (located right off of the 16th Street Mall in LoDo at Champa St.) when I worked downtown. I was excited when David Timmons opened the 1st CHeBA Hut in Colorado Springs in 2019 because now my family and I could enjoy it regularly; and they instantly became fans. I have loved all of my experiences at CHeBA Hut, until Monday, 23 May 2022. Store manager, Ryan, is the cause of this complaint.
On Monday my wife ordered sandwiches for her and my sons for lunch in celebration of the end of school and start of summer vacation from the Barnes location; which we’ve been regulars since it opened in 2021.
She ordered online and called the store when she arrived to check on the status of her order. She spoke with Ryan who was immediately rude in tone and demeanor. He was short with her and insisted she needed to come in to the store to hear her name get called and pick up her order.
My wife discovered the order was wrong upon returning home. She called the store to inform them and decided to return to the store to correct the order.
When she returned to the store the manager Ryan was belligerent and verbally abusive towards her. He told her he knew they messed up her order and demanded, “Don’t come in here with that face!” Told the employee making the new sandwich to, “Man, give me her sandwich so I can get her out of here!” He angrily wrapped it in foil and thrust it at her to take it and leave. Then yelled at her before she walked out of the store, “Don’t come back HO!”
My wife called me crying 4 hours later when I got off of work, still very shaken and upset. I went to the store to speak to a manager; at this point we did not know Ryan was the manager. The manager walked up to me and asked, “This is about the incident with the lady earlier, hau?” When I confirmed that it was and introduced my self I asked for his name; because he didn’t introduce himself initially. He said his name was Ryan and asked me in a confrontational tone, “Are we going to be able to talk about this like men?”
My family and I will not patronize any CHeBA Hut as long as Ryan is an employee. I refuse to subject my wife and children to this...

Cheba Hut was not a name I was familiar with, nor did I know anyone who’d eaten there.. We had a big order for 6 people and we all cut up our different sandwiches and shared them. These sandwiches were the sh…. They were so flavorful and chock full of meat and veggies… The sauce was just enough for flavor, but not enough to be messy. The bread was really soft and dense enough to hold all their fillings. We also tried the bbq meatballs and found they were really good. I’ll ask next time not to add as much bbq sauce to them. I’m a meat eater, not a sauce lover, so I like my meat taste, but again they were really good! The kool aid drink’s are cool as hell too. I plan on dining in and tasting it fresh next time. Read moreIt was my time visiting CO, and coming here and I would love to say I was very disappointed. The food wasn't the worst it was pretty great but the service was an absolute disgrace. I had so many questions as I was excited, I mean who doesn’t love sandwiches inspired by the best plant!!! but the dumb blonde who I believed was named Emily, was very disrespectful and not attentive at all. She was rude with any answers she had and constantly walked away be on her phone and stay hidden as if she doesn't a job to do. She did stand out from the other employees so she might've been a shift lead but to treat someone as if they didn't matter and you had better things to do than WORK was definitely unprofessional . If you're miserable with your life and job maybe you shouldn't be in customer service, let alone a spot like this where many come to chill. Please handle this immature...
