Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in Colorado Springs

I'm celiac and while it may seem obvious to avoid a sandwich place, extenuating circumstances made me desperate and I read online they can make you a gluten free salad. I got a lot of side-eye from other patrons as I described my need for gluten and dairy free, but the employees didn't miss a beat. One employee in particular stepped up and got right into action. I stood there nervously looking at the prep counter covered in bread crumbs, but saw he and another guy go to the back to work on my salad. When they heated up the chicken on the grill, I heard him tell the other guy, no, throw that out and clean the grill, she's celiac. They were gone for a while in back but when he came out he told me 'here is your gluten and dairy free chicken bacon salad, we washed the cutting board and grill and used clean utensils on everything.' The proof is in the outcome --no pain, no regret, no aftermath at all. I don't give it all the stars merely because it's not a place you go for atmosphere or Michelin-rated food, but I got some pretty tasty sustenance and am seriously grateful for the effort they put forth for me. I wish I had caught the name of the employee who took charge of my order to give him a good shout out, but I'll give this review here. If you're allergic like me, be sure to be clear about your issues because it's obviously a bit of a wild card, but depending on the severity of your symptoms (I react strongly) and your level of need/access, you might find yourself needing this option as well. First off, I came to this store for because it’s convenient and my favorite sandwich is made here. The customer service has always been bad. Faith the manager is rude, snappy, and unpleasant. Never the less I was there for the food. I ate here weekly. I ordered my usual 56 and took it back to work. The sandwich had a bunch of plastic bits in it. I called and informed them. They stated the beef has pieces of grit in it and it’s normal and they get this complaint quite often. I have probably bought 200 #56 sandwiches from all different locations. I have not once had “grit” in it. I couldn’t even cut the plastic with a pocket knife. It looked like it was a brim of a Tupperware container to me. Anyways they said there’s nothing they would do. No refund and would not remake the sandwich. I came into the store to complain to the manager and there was 2 other guys yelling at the staff for plastic in their sandwiches too. DO NOT COME HERE!!! This is the WORST and must disgusting Jersey Mike’s I’ve been to. I used to work at Jersey Mike’s for 3+ year and this was very disappointing given how much I like their sandwiches.

After my sandwich made, I saw two employees touch and move the trash cans, and then proceeded to touch the food again. Even when I walked in, it felt like all the employees were upset a customer walked in. The worker began topping my sandwich before he asked me. I asked him to rebuild my sandwich given I have allergies to one of the topping he put. After asking him to do so, he started whispering to his co-worker giving me a dirty look. The employee didn’t even know what Mikes Way was and put vinegar on the bread. When they wrapped my sandwich, it almost came apart fully. Terrible customer service! Unhygienic and dirty store.

Overall, don’t waste your time or money. Go shop at a local sub shop instead. I’m very concerned about the managers quality and how they could let a store be...
