Absolutely! Here’s a more detailed version of your review:
I’ve visited this establishment numerous times, and I genuinely love some of their beers. The selection is impressive, with a few standout brews that really showcase the craft. However, the atmosphere leaves something to be desired—it’s quite small and can feel a bit cramped. I would estimate that about 10% of the time I’ve gone, I’ve walked out due to the overcrowding.
The seating arrangement accommodates around 20 patrons in the front and about 10 in the back, but the close quarters can make it uncomfortable, especially during peak hours. While I appreciate the creative approach many breweries take with their flavors, I find that there’s often an emphasis on experimenting with unusual concoctions rather than mastering the basics. A solid, well-crafted lager or pale ale can be just as enjoyable, if not more so, than some of the latest trendy brews.
One of the highlights of my visits has always been the staff—they’re friendly and knowledgeable, making the experience enjoyable, especially when it’s not overly busy. Typically, the atmosphere is quite relaxing between opening and around 5 PM, allowing for a nice, casual experience to unwind after a long day. However, once the clock strikes 5, the place tends to fill up quickly, and it becomes too loud and hectic for such a small space.
Overall, while I appreciate the fantastic beers and the great service, the cramped quarters and noise level during peak hours can detract from what could be a perfect...
Read more2/2022 Update ~ Nifty! A former student works at Peaks N Pines! They still support the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region. Thank you so much! They still allow dogs in the outdoor seating area. The people are really nice (including the patrons). There's still free popcorn (in individual bags). You can still order from the Blackjack Pizza next door. Thank goodness for the family sized cheese bread (XL cheese pizza with no sauce), because I had acid reflux last weekend.
This brewery supports our local humane society and allows dogs in their outdoor seating area! The people are really nice. There's free popcorn available. They have fun wooden taster trays. When I was last there, I saw someone outside with a Blackjack Pizza box. I thought that bringing outside food to a restaurant was rude, but Blackjack Pizza is right next door and supplies their food so that the brewery can concentrate on what it does best. Oops on me! I ordered a family sized cheese bread which appears to be an XL cheese pizza cut into cheese sticks. Another friend ordered the pesto chicken pizza. We also remember having Blackjack Pizza before and didn't remember that it...
Read moreThe staff are welcoming, full of energy, and helpful. If you're not sure which of their delicious craft beers you'd like, they'll give you a sample. You can also buy a sampler of their beers. Just be warned that a couple of their beers has a higher alcohol content than most beers. The beers themselves are quite flavorful and they have something for all tastes. They're constantly rotating beers so there's always a variety. They have a gorgeous view overlooking Sky Sox Stadium and it's great when they have fireworks. If you're hungry, they also have a partnership with Blackjack Pizza and Schnitzel Fritz (German food) so you can order food and have it delivered to your table in about 15 min. They also have a popcorn machine so you can get free fresh popcorn as you drink. Definitely a locals bar where everyone knows your name... Or at least one of the owners who works there most days.
They are a bit hard to find for the first time but their front door faces the salvation army but they don't share a...
