I don't typically write reviews, especially a negative review about a small business due to the impact it can have on them. Considering our experience this evening, I feel it is best to share.
My daughter ordered the same Coconut drink she's ordered from Royal Tea in the past. After getting our drinks and driving away, she took a sip and said it was terrible, didn't taste right, and mentioned the boba had unusual brown "textured" spots on them.
Upon returning and explaining something wasn't right, I handed the drink to a staff member who then said he wanted to taste it himself. Without hesitation he removed my daughter's straw, put a new straw in, lowered his mask, took two sips, and agreed it didn't taste right. If he didn't agree, would he have handed it back to us and said it tastes normal after taking two sips of the drink? If not, why would he even want to taste it?
Under normal circumstances, I would never take a sip of a total strangers drink, and absolutely wouldn't even consider it 18+ months into a global pandemic. Not to mention the embarrassment for this business as it all took place in front of 8-10 other customers patiently (and I mean PATIENTLY) waiting for their drinks.
Moving on... After taking two sips he threw the drink in the trash can, asked if we wanted anything else, and said we would have to wait as there were numerous drinks to be made ahead of ours. I "reminded" him we already waited and had been given our drinks which they messed up, so ours should be prioritized ahead of the others. He reluctantly "agreed", retreated to the back of the store to make our new drink and started talking with the lady (possibly the owner) making drinks for others. I couldn't hear what she asked him, but I clearly heard him respond saying he already threw the drink in the trash. Did she want to taste it to "verify" it didn't taste right? Based on his responses to several questions, I certainly believe so.
All said and done, after this experience, we won't be returning and all four of our drinks and $30 were dumped down the...
Read moreWould like to preface this by saying I love royaltea and their drinks - I worked here several years ago so I have a sentimental attachment to this place.
Unfortunately, my friend and I had a very scary experience tonight (5/1/25) so Iâm hoping that a manager or the owner is able to take some kind of action. While we were there, some of the staffâs friends were visiting (which is fine) but it quickly escalated into something that just felt unprofessional. Mid-conversation, we heard a loud noise and something launch over the wall less than half a foot away from us in the booth. When I looked down, it was a knife. We were obviously shocked and I was waiting to see what the staff would say or do. They said nothing. Their friend came over to pick up the knife, cracked a joke, and handed it back to the workers. The wall behind their topping station is very tall and it takes force to go as far as it did. Someone should have been concerned but it sounded like they were just laughing it off or ignoring the situation.
We left, but I came back in to see if I could talk to a manager because thatâs a serious safety issue. A spoon, sure. A knife? Not laughable. The person I spoke to was apparently an assistant manager and she apologized, said she didnât know it went that far, and asked if she could do anything. The other staff member joined in and said âit bounced off the lidâ. None of this felt very comforting considering the fact that they did not address it with us or apologize when it happened. And also, is a free drink really gonna make anyone feel better about having a knife fly at them lol?
Sad to say we probably wonât be spending...
Read moreI have been going to Royal Tea quite often this year since my husband discovered it. I have never encountered a rude server until now. I ordered a taro boba milk tea. Nothing exciting , I went on my way but when I picked it up to take a sip, it over flowed on the side of the container and all over my carâs cup holder and some on my pants and blouse. So I turned around to go back to Royal Tea. I asked the server if she can put it in a different container because the side was damaged and it was leaking , as I tried to show it to her, l squeezed to find where the flaw was and some came off the top. She then grabbed the container from the counter and threw the cup to the trash, about six feet from where she was standing and said she canât do that sheâll make me another one. She went away with a frowned face. I have never seen such rude behavior so I told her so. She said, sheâs not in the mood to argue because sheâs having a bad day. I had no intention of arguing, l just want a new container fro my tea and pointed out her bad attitude and shouldnât treat customers rudely. I asked for her name and she said sheâs not allowed to give her name. This incident happened around fiveâish pm on June 8, 2023. It will be a while before I go back...
