This is my favorite restaurant in the Springs, Denver, and Pueblo. I love this place. To start, it's all-you-can-eat for under $20 per person (maybe just over with a drink). The sushi quality and variety are pretty darn good. The steaks are usually cooked between medium well and well, but they're still pretty good. Then, they have these shrimp skewers that can sometimes be too rare and others overcooked. I like the overcooked ones which people usually leave. I'm also told their barbecue ribs are incredible, but I've never tried them.
They have this jalapeño chicken that is the perfect amount of sweet, spicy and savory. There's a Cajun-style seafood bake that has corn on the cob, clams, mussels, calamari, crawfish, and crabs. Those lil Cajun mussels are so good. They have really good rice noodles and and I think egg noodles? They're good, I know that. The cheese-covered mussels can be good if that's your sort of thing. The salad bar is pretty good, the ranch and Italian are good. They have your typical beef and broccoli, coconut shrimp, rainbow beef, and other typical "Chinese" food. They also have American staples such as pizza, chicken nuggets, French fries, and Mac and cheese. The fries are mediocre at best, the nuggets are passable, I'll never try the pizza, and the Mac and cheese can be good if you're in the mood. They also have really good bok choy, and killer green beans. They have teriyaki chicken skewers that are usually pretty tasty as well.
They have a pretty good selection of fruits: pineapple, bananas in strawberry sauce, canteloupe, honeydew, and watermelon, along with peaches, pears, and fruit cocktail.
The desserts are pretty good too. I love the flan and little strawberry cakes. They also have "Chinese donuts", those little fried balls of dough covered in sugar. They have chocolate cake, creme puffs, and awesome cherry cobbler. There's also a chocolate fountain you can dip fruit or other desserts (or steak or jalapeño chicken, Cajun mussels, crab legs, no judgment). Then there's the ice cream spot. Typical chocolate, vanilla, and swirl, with sprinkles, Gummi bears, chocolate, caramel, and butterscotch sauces.
They also serve alcohol, beer, wine, and I think I saw harder liquors and mixers, but I never really paid it much attention. I wouldn't expect too much selection. But I do remember seeing a couple Asian beers and rice and plum wine.
The service is USUALLY pretty good, but I've had to be without drink for awhile sometimes when they're busy. Never had plates pile up, though. They walk you to your table, ask for your drink order then you just walk up to the bars with no waiting. So if you're really hungry, want to eat a lot, and don't want to wait, the Ultimate Buffet...
Read moreMy son chose this place to go eat for his 15th birthday because he wanted a good variety of Chinese food. There were six of us total four kids two adults. We were seated immediately. There was a good amount of choices, especially when it came to sushi and the salad bar was great it had more toppings offered then I thought it would and it was fresh. There's also a good amount of American choices as well as Chinese choices of food. They had Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, pizza, spaghetti, and a few other things. They also had ice cream and a chocolate fountain for dipping marshmallows or Rice krispie treats along with other traditional Chinese desserts. The reason I gave a three star rating instead of 5 was because the seating was uncomfortable for us we were sat in the side room with about 15 to 20 other tables and it was so loud I couldn't even hear my son talking to me & he was right next to me, it was really hot in the restaurant I don't know if it was from the number of people that were sitting in the small room or if it was just because the heater was turned up too high, some of the food was slightly overcooked, and they only serve Pepsi products to drink, and that was warm. When considering the price we paid of $16-$17 PER PLATE, I was surprised to see a SMALL sign on the table that said there would be a $5 charge for wasting too much food if your server noticed you weren't finishing your plate. There was no mention of this anywhere else in the restaurant or on the website. At least not any I saw. Last but not least, and this is my BIGGEST ISSUE - THERE WERE NO CRAB LEGS!! We were there about 7pm on a Saturday and I read that was the best time to go for crab legs. Which is why I was ok with the price. All in all, 3 Star waiting because I pretty much only ate a few bites of the actual Chinese food but had a decent salad and they did have good shrimp. It was a clean place, pretty good variety of choices including desert ( which has a 3 piece limit for the chocolate fountain options not cool) all my kids liked the food so for the most part,' it was worth it even though it's not exactly an ALL YOU CAN EAT buffet, even if they advertise as one and there's a time limit on how long you can stay and eat. I didn't even know that...
Read moreI really, really, really wanted to like this place but I didn't. When you walk in, the fish smell is overwhelming. There's a statue of a mountain with fish swimming around it and a couple of nasty rubber duckies. The greeters were all nice and so was our waitress. The room they brought us back to dine didn't have booths, just tables and chairs. It smelled like the combination of feet and mildew. We were one of the first people back there so I know it wasn't other guests. Sadly, at this point I was still really hoping the food was good because we've already passed a couple of red flags that we should've paid attention to but the parking lot was packed and 1/2 of the restaurant was too and it was filling up fast. I kept thinking they must have awesome food. I tried little bits of everything that looked appealing. Most of the chicken and beef tasted good, some of the vegetables that were with the meats appeared as though they were thawing out. They were not warm in the slightest but instead were cold. I'm iffy on seafood when I go out to restaurants in general but my husband loves sushi and I thought I'd give some of the shrimp a try. That was a big mistake! If you eat there DON'T EAT THE SHRIMP! You know when you do something and immediately know it was a bad idea? That was the shrimp for me. As I was swallowing the shrimp, I immediately knew it was a bad idea. It's been almost 3hours since I've been home and my stomach is still turning. I love sweets and I couldn't stomach the ice cream, I was dry heaving. I asked my husband if he likes his food and he was most excited for the sushi when we walked in the door because they had it displayed nicely. He was also disappointed and he's eaten gas station sushi before. He said this restaurant had by far the worst sushi he's ever eaten. The absolute ONLY things that were good about this restaurant was the greeters, waitresses, seeing the fish as we walked through the door and the price. It was about $15 a plate and $2 for iced tea, plus tax. This place has so much potential because of the size of the establishment, if they deep cleaned up the place, had better food temperatures and food that doesn't taste like it's gone bad. As for me, I will NOT...
