I was in town for my son's football game and was looking for a quick bite before the game. Googled closest restaurants and Roadrunner Pizza popped up. Headed that way and pulled into a sketchy strip mall and was greeted by a faded sign above the entrance to a takeout-only pizza joint. Hesitant, I plowed ahead and stepped into a lobby slightly larger than a phone booth and scanned the menu above the counter. I was immediately transported to any number of my past visits to Italian pizzerias in Pennsylvania, Connecticut etc. The phone was ringing off the hook, employees scurrying around and delivery drivers coming and going. Dingy may be a word used by the uninitiated, but I would say authentic. My eyes landed on the Stromboli and I ordered that. Counter help was friendly and helpful putting together a Stromboli containing sausage, green peppers, onions, mozzarella and marinara sauce. As I was from out of town I was planning on eating in the car. The counter help didn't miss a beat and asked me what car I was in. 15 min later he was at my door with my order! I opened the box and was greeted by the most beautifully presented Stromboli I've ever seen. The steam rising off the perfectly baked bread beckoned me to take a bite. It was hefty and light at the same time. My first bite was accompanied by an angel choir singing an Italian aria . . . crispy Parmesan encrusted bread encapsulating fresh veggies, gooey mozzarella, spicy sausage and a marinara sauce bringing it all together in a combination of flavors to die for. Do yourself a favor and get a Stromboli from Roadrunner Pizza before you die, you'll be...
Read moreHostile environment! We've been here a few times. It's been getting poor throughout the years. IT'S JUST PIZZA, that is extremely overpriced. Everything comes frozen or canned. They don't wash their veggies (they cut right them in front of you). The owners--I assume-they're they oldest and doing most of the in person interactions--don't share the tips. They put it nonchalantly in their pockets. They said they make their own green chili and alfredo, but I've seen jars of alfredo sauce. Why lie? The place is clearly dirty. Like grimy. They wouldn't have business if Springs had better food. The reason for the review isn't about their prices and mediocre food, I went in last week or so, this month, and saw the man, (I assume is the owner-he makes the pizzas in the front), throw something out anger, in the direction of his workers. If that wasn't bad enough, his workers weren't phased. Clearly common behavior. It's an abusive place and they do not handle stress well. Even if their food was phenomenal and reasonably priced, that outburst, from the owner, is unacceptable. Control yourself!
Delivery fee does not go to driver, per the last time I asked. So overpriced pizza, a high delivery fee, AND a tip....
Read moreWhen my husband and I moved into our house and the Cragmor neighborhood 16 years ago we would order pizza from the chains (Dominoes and Pizza Hut) and we were always grossed out and Always disappointed. Then one day I was looking through the phone book to see what other pizza places delivered to our house and happened to come across Roadrunner. I had never heard of them before and had no idea they were so close to where we live. They never put flyers on our doors back then and so we just never knew they existed. We took a chance and ordered from them all those years ago and have never ordered from anywhere else since! What I love about their pizza is that it is NOT GREASY! It always has a fresh taste to it. The veggies are always good and delivery is usually pretty fast. Everyone has their own preference for what a pizza should taste like and We love Roadrunner!! I feel like they could amp up their advertising a bit, if they ever feel their business is not doing well, trust me, the flyers and all of that help the neighborhood and new neighbors know you...
