My husband and I tried Shangri-La based on recommendations from his coworkers. We were blown away even going in with high expectations. We had the crab rangoons with the sweet and sour sauce. They were AMAZING. The rangoons were super light and crispy and the filling was great. Hubby had the combination fried rice which had a great ratio of meat to rice and vegetables and everything was cooked perfectly. None of the meat was chewy and the rice tasted super fresh, not stale like some fried rice tastes. I had the Mongolian beef which was delicious. The beef was cooked great, super tender and very flavorful. The sauce was a good balance of flavors, not too salty but definitely not bland. Hubby also got some of the wonton soup. It was good. He said it tasted different from other kinds he’s had (still good just different) because they use a pork stock instead of chicken and you can tell the wontons are handmade. For dessert we got the lychee fruit. I have never seen it offered anywhere before so I was very excited to get it. It tasted great! Hubby- who had never tasted it before- described it as tasting like a sweet ripe pear with the texture of a grape. They were delicious and I highly recommend trying them if you e never had them before. Our waitress Tammy also made our night amazing. Super personable, nice, funny and made sure our food didn’t have an allergen in it. She was super great about checking in on us, giving suggestions, and made us just feel incredibly welcome like we were regulars. Overall we enjoyed our dinner thoroughly and will absolutely be back!

So I have to give this place a two star not just based on the food but the service is ridiculous. Our server to say the least should find another job. Poor girl aside from the eye lashes that don’t allow her to see she drags her feet everywhere. We met another server name Carl he was very nice and seemed to work very hard picking up this girls slack. I came in for dinner with two younger children and this place doesn’t even have and baby stations in neither restrooms. So save your 80 dollars and eat somewhere who deserves your money. Now to talk about the food. Basic nothing to special. Duck was good not bad. Lo-mein wasn’t bad either but again super basic. Schezuan chicken was basic also. I asked for green tea this poor girl gave me a full pot with one tea bag in it. All the sodas didn’t have proper carbonation either. We didn’t get charged for either drinks. Sorry for the bad post I hate to bash restaurants but it’s just isn’t worth the money. On the positive side it’s a pretty location and super clean.

The service was great, the server and host were very friendly and on top of it. The restaurant was quite deserted, which is odd on a Friday night. I can see why. The food was not good at all. Let’s start with the positives. My friend and I got the dumpling appetizer, which was fine. They were kind of cold, but the sauce they came with was fine. I got the wonton soup, which I can say was the best part of the meal. Now the negatives: our mains (sweet & sour chicken, teriyaki chicken, and beef chow mein). My friend said the orange chicken tastes positively disgusting, and my teriyaki chicken tasted more like strange barbecue than anything else. The chow mein was fine, but the beef was very salty. Also, we got pretty meager sides of rice to go with our large plates of food. Honestly, I hate to give this place such a bad review because the service was very good. But, bad food is bad food.

I was super excited to try Shanghai-La East after seeing they had just won Best of Springs 2024, We ordered food for take out since we are about 5 minutes from this location. I personally got the teriyaki chicken dinner combo with egg drop soup and a pu pu platter. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. My friend who had also ordered the egg drop soup mentioned peas had been added to it. I investigated my own soup and found not only peas but carrots too. I ignored them and tasted the soup, surely expecting a richly flavorful soup as one would expect. Bland. The soup was an underwhelming mess and extra added ingredients to make up for its lack of seasoning. I moved on to my teriyaki chicken. I can easily make this but I wanted try Shanghai-La’s as it’s a staple and hard to mess up teriyaki chicken. Again, bland. The dish lacked seasoning that gave it a rich umami flavor. I shook my head with disappointment. I couldn’t eat more than 2 pieces without feeling sad about the money I wasted. I tried the fried rice and confirmed my suspicion that everything I ordered was grossly under seasoned. I took bites of several items of the pu pu plater. The meat on the stick is hard to mess up but it was on the drier side, I still ate the whole thing as I was starving at this point. I took one bite of the eggrolls which left me wanting. The only redeeming part of the meal was the fried shrimp which I didn’t finish eating. I confirmed my disappointment with 3 other friends who had ordered meals - genuine lack of seasoning and flavors.

I do not understand how this restaurant earned Best of Springs 2024 when I could have googled any other Chinese food restaurant and received a much superior succulent Chinese meal. Maybe COS in general has bland tastes, maybe it was an off night, but I doubt it. This has been one of the most disappointing food experiences in my 34 years of life. I do not plan on returning to this restaurant, nor would I...

This restaurant used to be good ( in the initial months it opened). Food was hot, tasted good/good quality and service was fast and nice. ( I/my family has never dined in always doing carry out). In the past 1.5 months, my family had ordered from here twice and has been very disappointed both times. First time, we ordered the garlic chicken and the dish was very spicy despite our request for it to be mild and the veggies listed on the menu were not what we received. I called to give feedback and the girl on the phone was combative and kept saying ‘she doesn’t make the food so it’s not her fault’. I can understand that and I never blamed her. I just wanted her to know we didn’t receive what we ordered and either the chef went rogue that day with ingredients or the online menu needed to be updated for what was actually in the dish. Last week we ordered from here ordering 2 egg drop soups and 1 hot and sour soup. We received 2 hot and sour soups and 1 egg drop. The egg drop was thick and the chicken in all 3 ordered dishes was spongy. Again, I called to give feedback and this time I actually spoke to the owner ( or at least a man who claimed to be). I told him about the soup error, the food quality and voiced frustration about what had happened with the precious instance( rude employee and dish made incorrectly.) I don’t feel he cared. He never offered to correct the error(s) ( especially the soup error) saying we could get 10% off on our next order, however I’m not sure we are going to...
