TL;DR- They delivered our wedding cake knowing everything about it was wrong, joked about it to our coordinator, and now won’t even get back to us to apologize or make it right.
From day one of trying to order our wedding cake and desserts, there were red flags. At our cake tasting, they had our information under a completely different name and therefore couldn’t find it for almost 30 minutes while we patiently waited. Even though we communicated very clearly to Amanda what we wanted in our cake at the tasting and several times over the phone and via e-mail, not only was it never written down, but our cake size and flavor, filling, and icing were completely wrong on our wedding day. They knew it was wrong, but still delivered it without saying a thing to us. The next day when we went to the venue to pick up some things, our coordinator let us know that they came to pick up their cooler and when doing so not only admitted to knowing it was all wrong, but even joked about it. That was on March 10th. We have received absolutely no communication from them about this (it is now March 20th). I e-mailed them on the 14th after getting frustrated about their complete lack of integrity. It is now the 20th and we still haven’t heard a word. Not even an apology. At our tasting and throughout our experience with them, we told Amanda several times we wanted no black frosting whatsoever on the cake, no fruit filling, and that we wanted a Champaign cake with lemon chiffon filling. Easy enough, right? While our cake was absolutely beautiful on the outside, when we cut into it we were so disappointed to see that the cake was everything we asked for it not to be- black frosting on the bottom tier, fruit filling, and white cake. We literally spit our pieces out when we tried it. Our guests who tried the cake all complained about the black frosting getting all over their teeth (which is why we asked for it to be all white), and said the fruit filling was incredibly bitter. I’m completely appalled that not a single person has reached out to us, even after we reached out to them, and it really shows their lack of character. There was a mix-up with our order and it wasn't ready when we went to pick it up. (For the record our planner has worked with them many times and said that this is the first time she's seen something like this has happen.) Sugarplum got us on the baking schedule for the same day and told us they would have the cupcakes delivered (for free) to the venue by that evening. Our venue was two hours away in Buena Vista. Later that day we ended up meeting Amanda on the way up because we left later than expected and while moving the cupcakes to our car, we had a mishap which ruined the decorations for one of the boxes of cupcakes. Even though it was our fault, Amanda happily took the cupcakes back to her shop and fixed them, again for free. She offered to drive them to the venue for us the next day, but we instead had them delivered to a family member who was driving up anyway. After all of that, Amanda even offered us a refund for the trouble! We didn't feel right accepting that though after everything she and the Sugarplum team did to make it right and then some. I should also mention that the cupcakes were absolutely delicious and beautifully made.
If you want a bakery that will go out of their way to make sure your day is a success then Sugarplum is the way to go. I would use them again without question, even with the mixup. This could have been the biggest disaster of our wedding, and instead they made it one of the best experiences we had in planning the whole event.

Read moreI WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN!!! Worst experience ever! I was recommended to Sugar Plum by my normal cake oeraon because she got booked out way earlier than usual. I ordered my son's cake I was very clear that i was a Rice Krispy Treat made Deadpool on the rop instead we received an edible image just thrown on the top of the cake. When the owner/manager came in to see things she, she shiws me the order sheet which has a picture of the cake and a drawing of the character standing up. She tells me oh no we wouldn't have charged you what we did if you wanted a figure. Then she tells me, after I am in tears totally disappointed, that she believed she "knocked it out of the park". Ahe didn't charge for the cale, which was the nice but it didn't make up for the issues. Then before my son's party I called back because I wanted to make sure that the filling was rght because I had called 2 weeks ago to change it and she assured me that it was right. Well as we cut into the cake we realized that there was nothing in the filling, when it was supposed to be candy bits. It tasted like someone had use extract mint in the filling. And I ordered a special small cake for my son because he loves ted velvet cake. And well that was done wrong as well. It was supposed to have cream cheese frosting and it was covered and filled with buttercream frosting. He was so disappointed that all of the cake was incorrect and not what he was uses to getting.
