The staff were very unprofessional. They spent most of their time chatting with their friends that were there eating. We ordered several different sushi rolls and all of them were very bland, the avocado was a weird mushy texture and the eel didnt taste right. The sushi chefs behind the bar had their headphones in and didnt seem to be listening to what the waitress' were telling them. Out of the 5 people we saw working there, only 1 was professional and it was the the sushi chef closest to the door. The crab and cheese wontons were delicious but it took both waitress ( they both asked and didnt bring my tea or say they had to brew it) 23 minutes to bring me my tea because they kept chatting with their friends or coworkers. They waitress disnt even ask my husband if he wanted a drink. The place is so small that the waitress kept almost running into customers when they were standing up to leave and there seemed to be no system to how they helped customers. The prices seemed a little high for the quality and quantity of the food. Even the ginger seemed like the stuff you get out of the jar, it had a weird texture and flavor and was warm. I was excited to try this restaurant because it had a great rating but I wont be going back. It was a huge...
Read moreUpdate 10/15/20: They took my suggestion for tea mugs! I have also become a regular at this restaurant. The seaweed is now top quality, and the miso still tastes homemade. I highly recommend the salmon skill roll and the Garden of the Gods nigiri. LOVE this restaurant.
Original 02/20: My husband and I definitely enjoyed our dinner here! The presentation was phenomenal and the sushi tasted great. Miso soup was awesome and tasted homemade; they used real miso (no instant) and did not skimp. The seaweed on some of the rolls was a little gummy, but definitely not bad enough to negatively affect the taste of the sushi, or my review of this restaurant.
The fish tasted fresh. The spicy hand rolls are actually spicy. The green tea was my favorite kind and I had three cups (I am unstoppable). The service was spectacular and I never felt like I was being ignored.
I love the atmosphere created with the anime playing and the lofi music. My suggestion to the owner would be to keep building on the theme-- maybe more artwork or those cute Japanese tea mugs that don't have handles.
We loved this place and look forward to returning. Keep up...
Read moreI ordered the Dinner Box through DoorDash, and it was honestly one of the best delivery meals I’ve had in a while. I got the combo with sashimi, a California roll, and teriyaki chicken—and everything exceeded my expectations.
The sashimi was super fresh, beautifully cut, and packed with flavor. The California roll was simple but done really well—perfectly rolled, with fresh ingredients and a great texture. But what really surprised me was the teriyaki chicken. It was tender, juicy, and the sauce had a rich, savory flavor without being too salty or overly sweet. Even the rice held up well during delivery, which rarely happens!
Everything was packaged carefully and arrived still warm (or cold where it needed to be). They included plenty of soy sauce, wasabi, ginger, and even utensils and napkins—little things that make a big difference when ordering in.
I was honestly expecting decent, but this felt like restaurant-quality at home. If you’re on the fence about ordering sushi or a bento-style meal for delivery, I highly recommend giving this place a shot. I’ll definitely be ordering from...
