Thai Satay — Restaurant in Colorado Springs

Living less than a mile from Thai Satay, I used to frequent this restaurant all the time, probably every other week. One day I had ordered a curry for take out and as I was eating it I noticed there was a fly, clearly cooked into my food. I called the restaurant that night and they told me that they would apply a credit to my account via my phone number, and that the next time I came in I could get another meal of the same value as a replacement. Fair enough! I called after a month or so to see if I could place an order with the credit on my account, and they told me that they didn't see a note on my phone number in their system for such a request. I then provided them the receipt from the original order, a photo that I took that night of the fly in my meal (date stamped), as well as a screenshot confirmation that I had called them twice the night that it happened (one call to make the order and one call after pickup to explain the situation). After providing more than enough evidence that I was served inedible food, they again agreed to note via my phone number that I was due an entree. A couple months later, I tried one more time to get a replacement meal and was told again that they didn't have note of it on my account and couldn't fulfill my request. So, unfortunately, I am here writing this bad review. If Thai Satay doesn't manage their kitchen well enough to not cook flies into their food, and further doesn't have the customer service to grant a replacement for inedible food, then I feel that I have no other choice but to write...

I was in the neighbourhood and decided to give it a try. When I walked in, nobody was at the counter. I spotted the waitress at the back corner doing whatever. She didn't pay me any attention. No problem. I just wanted to check out the menu anyway. I was up for a snack and sat down. The waitress came and I greeted her with Thai (I am not Thai and only know how to say hi and thank you). She ignored me. I ordered the spring roll and tom yum goong which was on the menu. She asked me what. At this point, I asked if she was Thai and she said no. No problem, again. I told her the spicy soup with shrimp. I find it quite comical when she is the waitress and supposed to know the menu. And she doesn't know one of the most popular dishes's name.

The food came and she just dropped it off on the table. The spring roll paper was torn and it tastes so-so. The soup was pretty much like tomato water with some spice in it with a hint of sourness. I am so glad that I didn't order more. I am not sure how people can rate this restaurant more than 2 stars.

When I paid the check, she looked at my receipt and loudly commented me not giving a tip. Yes, I didn't give a tip because the food was poor and the service was just as bad. AND I am so glad that I didn't tip after she made such rude comment. Did she do anything to deserve a tip? Absolutely not. I was the only customer in the restaurant and she didn't even try to check on me. Wow!

I have ordered from here since my favorite closed that was located on B Street this restaurant didn’t make the same item I used to get so I ordered the closest thing since 2014-15 it was good at first but over the yrs it gets worse I give them chance after chance just because I don’t know how to order what I want anymore but they overcharge and I beg them everytime to please make sure broccoli and other vegetables are well done and not crunchy I ordered today when my food arrived everything was hard so I figured I will eat the rice and shrimp oh no it taste like fish water no seasoning at all and the shrimp taste abnormally fishy I called them back and all they said was contact DoorDash for refund which I did but after all the money I’ve spent the lady didn’t care my food was disgusting it’s like she knew not to mention they allowed a 12yrs old little boy who broke in my home and stole my debit card use it at there store knowing it wasn’t his even ask if he was my son because he had my card and they allowed him to use it I’m so disappointed in the food and how quick they disregarded me after all I spend with them food is never right would not recommend and I’m not finished they will be held accountable for allowing a minor to use my debit card with...
