April 2022 edit: They got a new crew it seems like and everyone has been exceptional so far. A gentlemen named Lincoln was our waiter today as well as a few kind ladies. Everyone was really attentive and the food seemed a ton better today than our last visit.
Will definitely be back more often.
Haven't gone out much these days for sushi but their prices are still fair and the portions are decent. A lot of other places have been making their portions smaller and raising prices but not this place if I recall correctly.
If you get the sashimi salad, definitely ask for the ginger dressing with it.
The chefs are always nice here from the looks and sounds of it which is also a plus.
Place is clean, new crew since the last visit is amazing now, and food tastes better than before or I was just really hungry.
Also this has been the best place I've found so far to get teriyaki chicken. Only downside is that they don't have fresh salad and the ginger sesame dressings like they offer back in the west coast but the veggies that came with the chicken teriyaki were still really good overall. I highly recommend their chicken teriyaki š
Food was okay, however the waitresses were not so much.
I had asked if I could just stand by and wait for the tempura ice cream but was told no and that it would be for last. Well sure enough, by the time I got it, it was nearly all melted because it was put in with the warm food. I knew this would happen too after the waitress pushed me off about it.
It could've been decent maybe but there was just too much batter used it felt like and all the ice cream was melted including the whip cream.
Typical sushi place with okay sushi and fresh fish at the very least, hence the 2 stars. Just wish the customer service from the front of house was a bit better.
Price is fair...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst time dining at this "hidden gem" and was not impressed. Atmosphere was decent. The booth they sat us in was so tight we had to move the table back and forth to just fit within the booth seats. It was ridiculously small seating. We were presented with four menus: drinks, entrees, sushi, and specials of the day. It was overwhelming. They left one of each for four people to share so ordering was inconvenient and took forever since we had to pass each menu around to decide between the multitude of offerings. One menu per couple would have been preferred. After ordering, the food came at odd times, not in unison of each other. An appetizer and soup were forgotten and only came after we asked and most meals had been delivered. One roll and one main dish was also forgotten. Sadly, one of our guests sat hungry while the rest of us ate and they waited for their forgotten food to arrive. It was all pit of order and incomplete. The server blamed the kitchen for "overlooking" the items, which I'm sure they just forgot to order. They did comp the one forgotten entree and provided a free dessert to our guest. Dessert was brought before they even finished their meal leaving the ice cream to melt while they did. Overall, the service and timing of meals were extremely disappointing. The food was decent. Presentation was nice. Most likely will not return based on the service alone. Really sad because I wanted to like this place after hearing how...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhat rude management and wait staff. I walked into a very messy restaurant and could not sit at the sushi bar because there wasn't a clean area. I didn't say anything, I simply stood off to the side by the wait to be seated sign. When the manager approached me I said I'd like to sit at the bar and he went to clean just a little spot sandwiched between other customers. I nicely and within a a quick enough time frame where he didn't get too deep into the cleaning to let him know that I would like the spot at the end of the bar cleaned off because I'd like to sit there. He begrudgingly and with a bad attitude went over to clean the spot, but I just ignored it. The problem arose when he made a scene and was very vocal when the waitress asked why he was cleaning off that spot. I don't even see why she would care that he was cleaning off a spot for a customer, but they both made a scene. When I calmly asked the manager what the problem was, he snapped back and said not to worry about it and he disgustedly said 'I cleaned that spot you needed' while pointing at it in disgust. By this time I was justifiably upset and demanded to know why he was being so rude and trying to embarrass me in front of the whole restaurant. I didn't even give him a chance to respond. I just said you lost a customer and earned a one-star review,...
