This was my first time at this establishment.I found the decor and atmosphere fitting to a deli and cafe. I liked the selection and the pricing. It wasn't until the food came out that my expectations fell flat. My wife ordered the Ruben and I a cheese burger. A placed called a deli gave expectations of a great sandwich at least a good one. Honestly Arby's Ruben sandwiches beat theirs hands down. Carl's Jr burgers beat theirs hand down. The problem with the cheese burger was the meat. Really, a processed patty that seems like it came from a Walmart burger package left the bun, toppings and condiments ratio severely lacking. A patty made of fresh ground beef twice the weight of the processed one would of made this a 5 star burger. The Ruben sandwich my wife had as she puts it had a good quality and quantity of pastrami. Onto the rest of the sandwich, the bread was suppose to be Rye, but looked and tasted like wheat. The amount of sauerkraut and Swiss cheese didn't meet the proportion to pastrami. The dressing for the sandwich was bland. A store bought thousand Island would have been better. The bread became soggy quickly and she could not finish the second half. Put into a quick summary the establishment skimped on the food quality and for this gets my two...
Read moreSince lockdown, I changed gears a bit, and started opting for other options to support small business wherever possible.
Today, was Wooglin's Deli.
Wife and I were craving sandwiches and decided to Google other options besides Subway, Wooglin's resulting.
WHAT A GREAT FIND!
I happen to live down towards Fountain, so heading up North is a little ways away, but totally worth it. At first when I open the box, I was greeted by the home made potato chips! Not a bag of lays, or a handful of discs you can see through, but nice thick, golden hunks that are almost like a thin french fry. Like the crépe of french fries! Then you look at the whole thing and it looks well portioned for what you pay. It may look like a regular size sandwich, but once you pick it up, and see how big it is in your hand, you know it means business. The bread was REALLY good. So soft, yet didn't sponge into some soggy mess. Even with a 20 min drive, it held up, and was delicious.
Seemed as though the service was very attentive. With COVID stuff happening, we got take out, and the gal ran right out shortly after we arrived.
The diversity of the menu, and the delicious first visit, means I would definitely recommend, and definitely return to...
Read moreMy wife and I visited Wooglin’s Deli in Colorado Springs for the first time today for an after-Valentine’s Day brunch. We always drive by and say we’re going to stop, and today we finally did!
When you walk in, it’s an order-at-the-counter setup, and they bring the food to your table. The service was quick, which we really appreciated.
We ordered the Club Avocado sandwich, the smothered breakfast burrito, a chai latte, and a vanilla caramel latte.
Breakfast Burrito – It was solid! Packed with meat, which was great, but I’d love to see a bit more egg in there (I know there’s an egg shortage right now, though). The smothering sauce was mild but tasty. Both my wife and I enjoyed it.
Club Avocado Sandwich – This one was just okay. It had plenty of meat, but it was a little bland. It might have been the bread, or maybe it could use a bit more sauce or seasoning? Not sure if there was mayo on it or not.
Lattes – Both were well-made and enjoyable.
One unique touch we noticed—there are paintings on the wall available for purchase, which adds a nice local/artsy feel to the place.
Overall, great service, quick food, and a nice casual spot. We’ll definitely come back and try some...
