I live in Evergreen and frequently walk around the lake in the mornings. This morning after my walk i stopped at Hava Groove to order a muffin and drink and enjoy a rest on their shady patio. They have an order window on the outdoor eating area. The window was open with a sigh staying "order here". I waited for over 10 minutes, no one came to the order and no one was at the indoor counter. There were no customers indoor. One young girl began sweeping the the kitchen, I could not get her attention at all. Finally a lady sitting on the patio told me I would have to go inside, since they never pay any attention to the window. So I did go inside. Two young girls did finally cone to take my order. When I mentioned the waiting time at the outdoor wndow, one girl just did the eye-roll thing and the other explained they were busy in the back. I also mentioned i stood there and watched her sweep the entire kitchen floor and could not get her attention all. So I just placed my order, paid and left. They never spoke another word to me at all. The food is good here usually but the service definitely requires more adult supervision and employee training in courtesy and professionalism. In the future I'll grab my snacks at Alpine Pastry and make my own drinks at home. New restaurants are opening in Evergreen, so this place needs to make adjustments for the competition. As for me, today is my last day for Java Groove. You may pull in the tourists but you're goung to lose the support of residents of Evergreen....
Read moreHow did a person (me, I'm the person) who doesn't drink coffee or tea end up in a coffee café? The owner is a Tik Tok creator who I follow and a really nice person. So I went to support his small business. The vibe at this place is hippie-chic casual meets your living room on family game night. The atmosphere is comforting. It has a welcome to my place, kick off your shoes (but don't, it is a public eatery), and stay a while feel. And people do stay a while with their laptops, books, and friends while they socialize and enjoy the food. The staff were friendly, greeting customers by their names, engaging in affable chat, and could be heard laughing in the back, enjoying their jobs. The food isn't fancy, but it's tasty and served in sufficient portions, so you don't leave hungry. The prices were more than reasonable, and although I can't speak for the coffee, I can recommend the smoothies - deliciously decadent. If you're near Evergreen, make Java Groove a place you stop into, it'll become a...
Read moreWe came in Saturday to try the place out after talking to the shop on Facebook and I was super excited. It was very slow, we were the only people in line so we ordered two coffees and two bagels with cream cheese to go. We waited so long we almost thought the girls didn't put our order in. The girls at the front were sweet and professional and got our coffee pretty fast. But it took over 10 mins standing there waiting for the bagels, and we were the only customers waiting on food. I could understand if it was busy because ive worked in retail and fully understand how it is being busy and understaffed. But that wasnt the case at the time we came in. (This was well before the event they were having that afternoon.) Finally a younger guy brought us out the bagels that were barely warm and two containers of cream cheese we put on the bagels ourselves while in the car. Love their coffee, but next time I'll just be making our...
