My daughter goes to school in Denver. She and her friends at university go to coffee shops around the area for the experience. I was in town last weekend from Fort Worth and she wanted to show me this new place she had found in Evergreen. We parked in the lot across the street. Purchased an hour for $5.75. It was busy, so we got our drinks and pastries and went walking the open shops. Great drinks, and great service. Looks like, had we beaten the crowd, we would have stayed for a while and visited. All went great and again she was proud to have introduced me to Muddy Buck.
Today we received overdue parking notice for $82.00. It was from early February when my daughter and her friends found the place. They had purchased 1.5hrs at the lot and after visiting for a bit they left to go back to Denver. The went over 26min. And that triggered an $82.00 fine. And to pay it online includes an additional $5.00 convenience fee.
So, for the pleasure of enjoying the atmosphere for 1hr and 56min at Muddy Buck, she paid $100 after the coffee, tip, and the parking racket. Needless to say, she and her college friends can't afford to return there and get extorted by the Evergreen parking lots.
Maybe there is free parking somewhere close. But we won't be able to find that out because the message has been received loud and clear: don't come...
Read moreThis restaurant has not been the same since it was sold 2-3 years ago. With the previous owner, she had such a fabulous camaraderie with her patrons & had a passion for customer's satisfaction for her food. All of that is missing with the current owner(s). The current staff looks stressed/depressed, maybe not happy with their job; never smiling. We got there for lunch at 11:30am "but weren't serving lunch til noon"- really? They got our order wrong; getting an extra hot coffee & extra iced coffee we didn't request, having to ask for the Oregon chai tea which was ordered. They brought the spinach feta croissant immediately, cuz it was heated in sometime, while the other 3 of us got our order 20" later. My Lorraine ham & Brie cheese croissant was on a croissant which was black chard along 1/4" along the entire dude if the croissant & when I mentioned it, the waitress just looked at me instead of offering a redo, so I cut the burned/charred side off before eating it. The staff has zero personality. We took more out-of-state guests there today, as we always have done but since this is the 3rd time with guests we were dissatisfied with the food & the staffs personality, we said, "never again". Too bad it's not what...
Read moreCute place, we opted to walk to here from Wildflower because it wasn’t quite as busy. At first glance, it is a cute place, but it just seems a little unorganized and slow. Dirty dishes filled tables and for a party of two, we sat at the end of a large table, in case another party needed seats. I ordered avocado toast, I told the young lady I didn’t want the toast, just the ingredients that go on the toast. I asked her if they had a simple egg breakfast so I didn’t have to pay the price of the avocado toast and she said yes, it would just take some time for her to type it in. After we got our receipt it turns out that not only did I have to pay the avocado toast price, she also charged $1.50 additional for the “two additional ingredients” that I got. I ordered two eggs, with onion, zucchini, cheese and red pepper flakes. My husband got a Benedict, for being made from scratch, his was luke warm. Probably because the young lady that was bringing out the food had to walk around the entire room just to see our number on the table. I paid $12.50 for some runny eggs covered in cheese and two vegetables. Just doesn’t seem worth it just for the good mimosa and mules. We will try Wildflower next...
