So I went to Wildflower with my family for the first time because our Air BnB recommended it. The restaurant was extremely cute, but small which is okay. Here was our terrible experience. My mom went in to put our name down for a table and this lady (who I think is the owner) wouldn't acknowledge my mom's presence. She attended a few families behind us when they walked in but totally ignored us. She rolled her eyes at my mom and finally the kind young server was the one who took our name and sat us down. Our server was lovely and extremely kind to us but unfortunately we had to communicate with the owner because she was the only other server in the restaurant and man this lady did not want to talk to us. What was insane to us was how kind she was to EVERYONE else, she talked to them, asked about their day, where they were from and gave them the best service but with us, it was as if we didn't exist. Finally I grabbed her attention because I wanted more coffee and she rolled her eyes and gave me the coffee and walked away. My mother had to leave the restaurant due to her discomfort with this woman and my brothers who are 15 and 16 felt that she was being ugly to us because she was obviously racist. It is very unfortunate because we are "darker" but we're American and me saying that shouldn't have to matter. We stood out in the restaurant and watching her give the best service to everyone but us was just hurtful. Finally at the end, I asked for the bill and she immediately grabbed my card, charged it and then threw it at our table when she was done. I'm so disappointed and disgusted at this lady and the level of disrespectful she was to me and my family.
Their food was great but I'm giving this business only one star because I don't tolerate racist people and if I can give a half...
Read moreLet me start by saying that I was so excited to visit this adorable cafe a friend had recommended! But we absolutely will not be passing that recommendation forward. The potatoes are great, other than that, the food is decent. The Athena omelette says it comes with spinach, which mine did - it came with a single half leaf, along with a small shred of another lettuce. The space is small and cute, but can get crowded easily. While we were there, a spill occurred in the small dining area, and while the patrons were cleaning it up, they were handed a rag by the staff, who made no other attempt to help. All of of this would have been easily shrugged off, if our server had been even remotely interested in delivering a halfway decent experience to our table. She was sweet and chatty with the tables around us, but barely looked at us, even when we were ordering. She treated us as though we were a bother that she didn’t have time for, even when we asked for a spoon for my coffee - which had been sitting in front of me for almost 15 minutes, and we never saw the spoon. She didn’t even speak to us after that until she thanked us for paying. We only left a tip in case of tip share. Next time we visit Evergreen, we’ll be finding literally any other place to eat, because we were made to feel increasingly unwelcome from the moment...
Read moreThis tiny restaurant in Evergreen, CO, is cute and rustic, serving American fare. It's the kind of place you want to eat when in a mountain town. Seating inside either at the window looking out to the street or in a small dining area. Outside small tables w stationary benches suitable for 3 lined the boardwalk. We were seated outdoors. I ordered the Reuben sandwich - pastrami & sauerkraut with Swiss cheese and Thousand Island between marbled bread. Too bad he pastrami was extremely SALTY! The meat was on the dry side, begging for more dressing to juice it up. The Wild Fries sprinkled with parmesan cheese had a nice crispiness and thickness. However, even these were way SALTY! The combination of the two as a meal was, in fact, uncomfortable. My blood pressure must've been as high as the altitude! My wife's experience was much better. She ordered the BLAT sandwich - bacon, lettuce, avocado, and tomato on toasted sour dough. Our waitress was great. Nearly a one woman show, she rarely stopped working every table inside and out. I don't want to color everything through my meal, other customers had attractive plates. I simply suggest avoiding the Reuben & Wild...
