Coming from out of town for my anniversary, we skipped on another busy place because the wait to be seated was long. This place was not as busy at all and seemed nice. We arrived at eight, having more plans around 9. So we figured with one, maybe two other tables, it wouldn’t take long to order, eat and make it to our film. Another couple came in after us, was seated, fed and left. Someone, I’m assuming maybe a manager, came up and asked if we were doing okay; I emphasized that we were okay.. just literally waiting. She said “well I was just seeing if I could do anything for you.” Still no meal. Almost an hour later, and late for our film, I had to grab another waiter and tell him to just box up our meal if it was ready because we had been waiting an hour. He said he’d comp us with something if we came back or if we wanted cheesecake (I wouldn’t want it sitting in my car during our movie... the cold food and empty stomachs until we get out of our movie is bad enough.) and being from out of town and on my anniversary, I don’t know how I’d be up here any time soon much less want to return. After we were leaving, we were told they are training cooks. ... on a Friday night, when I’d assume most people are going to go out, and which might have been a nice disclosure beforehand; a simple “kitchen is running a bit slow, they’re instructing a few new chefs,” would’ve made a difference.
Aside from still being hungry, having to take food which will inevitably be cold when We eat it, I’m completely disappointed and embarrassed that this was now solidified as part of my...
Read moreThe restaurant is seat yourself, and thank goodness we ended up sitting in Meg's section. She was by far the sweetest server I have ever met, and I am a server myself. She went through the menu with us and handed us her own little "cheat sheet" cards from her server book that went into more detail on the different types of sushi and the types of vegetables that are in each entree. Throughout the meal, she checked on us in a very sincere manner where you could tell she genuinely wanted to know how our meal was and if we needed anything else at all (including unlimited rice). Later, my friend and I realized that she was running the entire dining room by herself. We were there around 9PM, so the place wasn't super busy, but she had at least ten tables to herself. Even though she was extremely busy (I would imagine), she still remained calm, EXTREMELY kind, and did everything in a timely manner. At the end of our meal, she asked if we needed boxes and if we would like extra rice togo. She also proceeded to tell us the best way to heat up our leftovers. I will definitely ask for Meg every time I go back to Sambi Canton! She is...
Read moreSTAY AWAY!!! DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. We are from out of town, staying overnight to ride out a nasty snow storm in Steamboat Springs. We ordered delivery and they said it would be about 45 minutes but the meals are delivered much faster which was nice. Upon opening the won-ton soup I find hair in it! We were also missing an order of rice, and the other order of fried rice was steamed rice. I called and asked to speak to the manager and the girl on the other end said they "weren't exactly" there. I told her I wanted a refund and didn't even want to eat the rest of the food, upon which she asked me to hold for a moment. I could hear in the background this girl speaking with another woman, whom appeared to be the manager who was "not exactly" there, who told her to refund the money for the soup and rice...
