Here's the short version: Samich Shack is far and away the best sandwich you can get in the Springs. Arguably, the best sandwich you can get anywhere. No choice is the wrong choice when ordering from this place.
Here's a longer more in depth version: Quite possibly one of the easiest five stars you could give a place, there's no better lunch spot than Samich Shack when you're in the mood for a sandwich. Andrew clearly loves what he does, and his passion for the art shines through in every order. He is friendly, prompt, honest and efficient.
After several visits, due to the location's small size, it is very easy to establish a relationship as a loyal customer, and you are well rewarded for your efforts in doing so. Samich Shack offers a rewards program where you get a punch card for each sandwich bought, and your 11th is free. It adds up far quicker than you might imagine, as I am sure that after just one visit, you'll be craving another visit in no time at all.
Each sandwich is made to order (like all sandwiches everywhere should be to begin with), and is made with the freshest ingredients, with so much love and care put into it that even the cucumbers are sliced on the spot.
Almost 90% of the time, I order the Manitou. While that is a vegetarian option with no meat, something about it hits different. Its almost always what I crave. I've tried five different sandwiches so far, and all of them were uniquely fantastic in their own way. There is a sandwich for everyone here, and each one has the recipe/ingredients down to a science. Sure, you can add or remove items from existing sandwiches, but they exist how they are for a reason. It just works.
This little place might be easy to miss driving by, but if you do find the time to make your way down to Samich Shack, it'll be one of the best lunch choices...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe meatball sandwich was really good! The service, not so much... I pulled up, the window opened, and I got, "Sammich shack, what would you like?" I told the guy behind the window that I had never been there, so I didn't know. He just sat there and said nothing. No take your time, let me tell you a little bit about us and what we have, nothing. Uncomfortable silence that caused me to choose quick. "Chips and a drink?" is all I was asked, after I said no thank you, he charged me by pushing a credit terminal towards me which he held tight, no words mind you as I tried to pull this closer to me to see what I was doing. Then he disappeared for a few min, opened the window, handed me a to-go container and a napkin, and closed the window. No thank you, have a nice day, enjoy, or anything. I'm sorry if you're having a bad day, but customer service is more than that. Not sure I'll go back, even though the sandwich was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI tried this spot one time and is was solid, good food chill vibe. I went today and I asked for 2 Gossage sandwiches. One I asked for Chicken and the other turkey added. My friend bought the Pueblo. Overheard one of them sayāwhatās up homieā to my friend⦠(he is mexican ) seemed a little disrespectful They didnāt put no chicken on the sandwiches, they gave us all turkey, cut the pickle in half⦠Then while making the sandwiches I watched them run out to their car to grab something while wears gloves touching our food. One slice of turkey on each sandwich, it was so thin I couldāve went to subway and spent half. Iām usually cool if something isnāt right but this aināt it. I tried to call the number on google and nothing. Thatās why Iām writing the review. I will NOT be coming back. I would like a response from the owner this was unacceptable service⦠AND I...
