Huddy's Inn — Restaurant in Colts Neck Township

We used to love Huddys super close to us good service great food. Well all of that has changed. Went there tonight with my husband ordered an appetizer and two burgers. After being seated in the party room area with only one other table i immediately knew we were going to be ignored the entire meal and sure enough we were. We were seated for a LONG time without even anyone asking for a drink order. When our food came I ordered my burger medium and it was so well done it was tough to chew. I asked if a new one could be made ( after finally finding the waitress again) she offered if I wanted to Keep my fries so my husband wasn’t eating alone. I thought that was a nice gesture thinking they would surly give me more with my new burger because I didn’t want to fill up on just fries so I just picked at them so my husband didn’t feel funny eating alone. Then I got the second burger brought back out zero fries on the plate and the burger was yet again well done cooked all the way through no pink. The waitress came over eventually to see if the second burger had been all right, considering she wasn’t the one to deliver The New-burger to the table, I told her that It Wasn’t any better But I wasn’t about to send it a third time. I did tell her that I was disappointed. They didn’t put fresh fries on the plate considering now my pile that I was picking on were stone cold. At this time, my husband was completely done with his meal so he was just staring at me eat absolutely hate that feeling. It took so long to remake that he was completely finished. I did notice the other table that was sitting in the room with us also had issues with their food. My husband and I rarely get a night out without kids so when we are out, we like to pick somewhere local so we’re nearby and expect decent service even at a chain restaurant as simple as Applebee’s. If there’s an issue with a meal that gets sent back to the kitchen a manager will come to your table and offer an apology and ask how they can make it right. Nothing was taken off of our bill or even offered. A couple months ago almost the same exact situation happened to us. We decided to give them a second try thinking it couldn’t surely be that bad again because we’ve loved this place for so long and sure enough back to back times it was awful. I went to look to see if they had a website. I was going to send the manager an email letting him know apparently the website no longer exists and it doesn’t seem like they have a Facebook page that they’re active on. We weren’t looking for anything for free. It just would’ve been nice if somebody in higher-level management came to offer their apologies it seemed as though they kept messing up peoples dinners, but then didn’t really care. Extremely disappointed I don’t think I have it in me to give them a third try it’s sad because this used to be our go to place. Unfortunately we’re going to stop recommending it to friends because it’s just been awful lately. Really...

I am right down the street from Huddys and have dined here so many times and have yet to have a perfect dining experience- or anywhere near it. I am writing this from the car on my way home as this time has officially been the worst dining experience I have ever experienced and this time I will not be returning. I had made a reservation for 6:30 for my dad’s birthday with my parents and my grandparents ( My dad is also a frequent guest at Huddys and really wanted their grilled wings and burger). We were seated immediately which is always a plus, but we weren’t greeted for at least 15 minutes. I will say our server did come over and say she will be right over, but that was only after sitting there for 10 minutes. We had then waited another 10-15 minutes for beers and waters. We ordered grilled wings and baked Brie for our apps, we were told the grilled wings take long to make but we didn’t care as that is what my dad had wanted for his dinner. They came out no less than 25 minutes later, not grilled. Next was entrees. Everything came out as ordered (not good, but as ordered)- except for my dads, which was the only person I cared about having a good time. He had ordered a med rare bacon cheddar burger with no L.O.T. - but was then given a well done burger with no bacon, no cheese, and only L.O.T. After bringing it to our server’s attention after biting our tongues all night, she had responded with “ I am coving for someone tonight, but we have been getting a lot of complaints on the grill department. I rung it in right though.” I am so happy you rang it in right but that wasn’t my complaint and I did not ask if you were scheduled or not. I have been a server since 15 and a bartender since 18, and have NEVER gone and made excuses to save my tip. You are there to represent the restaurant as a whole, not just yourself. At the end, the kicker was when she had brought out ice cream for my dad’s birthday, and made the comment “you chose Huddys for your birthday?” Maybe if the owners or managers cared enough to hire service bartenders and a salad station chef, your servers could focus on BEING SERVERS instead of having to serve, make their own drinks, and make their own salads, soups and desserts. I have never been so disappointed and disgusted. My dad was mortified. I feel absolutely horrible that this is how his birthday dinner was spent. I am now looking for a new place to have a redo birthday dinner for him. He deserves it after this absolute DISASTER of a...

If I could leave no stars I would! This place is a TOILET for service!! Especially in the heart of this town!

The staff is rude, the "servers" are not at all attentive to anything of their tables! I live in Colts Neck, and have been there 4 times now! Even brought my family from out of town, (hoping it was better), all who were disgusted by the experience. All who said is a frigin joke! And DISGUSTED and OFFENDED!

I/We had a "server" who after taking the order, (which took over 10 mins) walked by our table multiple times seeing that our water and drinks were empty or needing a refill, after I repeatedly asked her to refill, it took her over 10 minutes more. I understand they're busy (she wasn't). But still...! And then we watched as she sat and conversed with people she knew for over 5 mins!! We almost got up and walked out! Almost an hour when our food came out, and it's been like this every time I've/ we have been there!

UNACCEPTABLE! in the restaurant business!

After 4 times of being there and it's still like this! Always want to get up and walk out!

Not to mention the food! It took an hour! It was like this every time! And it wasn't that good or even cooked as requested!

And then, when asked to fix it, we got an attitude from the rather corpulent, limping server, who brought it to our table.

It's just disgusting and wrong! I would expect more from an establishment in this town. I will never recommend this place. Unless you're "a bunch of "Huns" looking for a cheap night out" !!

The bar will be your best chance! Seriously!

Don't be afraid to get up and walk out! Because you'll be doing the staff and this place a favor! Showing the same respect this place shows you as a paying customer! Better yet save the time and money and go...
