Cool place; however the staff are not trained well for communication. I tried the dine in and drive through and both the same experience. When ordering multiple drinks the baristas dont call out the drinks by name. They just place the drinks in a pile with other customer orders and expect you to read there terrible handwriting and abbreviations on the cups. We actually ended up grabbing someone elses drink. A waiting customer helped us pick our correct drinks from the pile. Outside in the drive through the following day we pull up and the barista asks for our drinks. I ordered a black rifle black coffee. My sister orders something else. She doesn't ask if I would like creamer or sugar. No big deal...so I tell her I will take creamer in the coffee or the to go creamer packets if you have them. She hands us our coffee and sure enough no creamer. I just wanted to leave, but not after she asked us if we would like to leave a tip and how much? Like what am I tipping you for? Your terrible customer service? My sister was driving so of course she always leaves a tip...
Read moreIm new to the area, and a friend recommended I try Brewha, instead of going to the good ol faithful Starbucks. Here are my thoughts:
I went through the drive through, which was not over easy to find- thats certainly no ones fault. Its small and narrow, and I can see how that set up could easily get backed up and busy, though at 7am, I was the only one in line out there.
The menu outside is small, and written in chalk, so a little difficult to read, but I had looked at the menu online, so I was prepared with what I wanted to order. The gal at the drive through was really nice, and got me set up with their rewards program.
I really enjoyed my coffee, and the gal at the drive through was really nice. I will def come back, and try other things!
Please read this review in the tone I intended- I have really, really bad social anxiety, and I meant nothing poor to the shop, everyone was very nice, and my coffee was great!
This is the kind of place that you really want to love when you first walk in... it's quirky, cool, has tons of seating and a "take a load off and read a book" vibe to it that is quickly becoming lost amid a sea of corporate coffee stores.
But in my experience, there's something... "off" with the coffee. I can't quite put my finger on it. I was passing through town so this is based on one order, but my (pricey) iced coffee had a weird taste to it that was simultaneously watered-down and ... "plasticky"? "Cardboardy"? I threw some milk in it, and it was ok after that, but as a bit of a coffee snob, this seemed to be a case of stale beans or a bad roast.
The staff was laid back and very welcoming, but the "all the drinks are 'up' on the end of the bar" system is a bit confusing and prone to grabbing the wrong drink or just not being able to find yours. More clarity there...
