I can't remember the last time that I received a hot sandwich from McDonald's. They can barely melt cheese anymore. The bun being warmer than the meat does not count as a hot sandwich.
Don't double your drive through lanes if you aren't going to double your grills.
Request a hot sandwich whenever you order, and pay attention to the non committal response that you receive. You can't even request a hot sandwich. The best response I received was when a cashier typed "special request"on the screen. No one dared repeat the word "hot". They gave me a cold burger nested inside a hot bun. I think they were trying to cook the meat through the bun with a heat lamp.
I've started eating at White Castle. It's gross, but you know what? ALWAYS HOT! It turns out that if you order sliders with jalapeno cheese, they are pretty good. They also have fish, chicken, and crab cake sliders that are delicious even without cheese.
I hate you McDonald's. Everyone should. Quit insulting your customers.
The next time you go, do the "hot patty challenge". Ask for a hot cheeseburger and pay attention to the non answer that you get. Then notice how the bun is always hotter than the burger and the cheese is barely melted. Then post your experience somewhere.
Clark Lane location in Columbia, MO is the worst.
*Update: now there is an ad campaign promising NEW hot and juicy beef! I think it only applies to quarter pounders though; not single or double burgers. We just got short changed on quality. Read moreGenerally, I’ve tried to give this location (Columbia, Nifong) grace, in spite of their service always being at a snails pace and my order is usually wrong. Staffing is hard and we’re all human so mistakes happen, I get it. I worked in customer service for 15+ years. HOWEVER, this mornings interaction was inexcusable. (9/22/22, 8:00am) I ordered curbside ahead before I reached the location via the app (the function was turned on and available), and when I pulled up all of the curbside spots had orange cones in them. The app would not let me back out of curbside and select another pickup option, so, not knowing what else to do, I selected the nearest curbside spot to where I had actually parked. A man whom I presume to be the manager shortly came out and removed the cones, so I pulled into the appropriate spot which I had selected and waited for my order, figuring they had just opened curbside. The manager came back out with my order and I greeted him kindly, but he started yelling at me about how if the cones are out then they don’t have the staff to have curbside open. I explained my situation to him, but he continued to yell at and berate me (obviously pregnant, if that means anything) until I cried. I would understand his reaction if I had been “a Karen,” but I was polite and apologetic the whole time. Read moreThis is the worst McDonald’s I’ve ever been too. The past three times I’ve been, all spaced over a week, have been after 9:30 and each time I’ve been given an excuse for why they are not taking orders. It has ranged from they are rebooting the system twice, and most recently just a we are not taking orders. I don’t even order through the window and usually place a mobile order to cut down on the work. Each time I’ve had to either change the order destination if I was willing to drive across columbia, or cancel the order. My favorite was when the last time I did get food the woman working the window told me the app didn’t take orders past 9pm so I couldn’t have placed one. After finally getting her to understand that is not how it works, she had me pull up to the window, where the manager came and asked what was going on. I said I had an online order through the app, he pressed two buttons on the screen, and had me checked in. This was after the woman working the window informed me she had been turning people away all night because they weren’t able to check people in. The times I have been able to get food here, they have almost always been hit or miss, messing up orders or food being cold.
