Sage is an adorable little coffee shop with a cozy, inviting vibe that keeps me coming back. I’ve visited a few times now and have always had a great experience. The staff is friendly and helpful — on my first visit, I asked for a drink recommendation and ended up loving what they suggested. Service is quick, even when the shop is busy.

I’ve tried a few different drinks, including the Eclipse cold brew and the Tiger mocha — both were delicious, and I’m looking forward to trying more from their menu. On the food side, I’ve had the biscuits and gravy, which were flavorful, and the brisket bowl, which was hearty and satisfying. Prices are comparable to other coffee or breakfast spots in town.

The interior of Sage is small but thoughtfully designed, with brick walls and a pretty chandelier that adds charm. There’s a long cushioned booth along one wall with small tables and chairs across from it — each table seats about two people, so it’s better for quick visits or small meetups. It’s not the place I’d go to study or work, just because it’s usually busy and the seating is close together. But it’s perfect for catching up with a friend or grabbing something to-go.

Parking is street-only, though there’s a garage around the corner. Overall, Sage is a sweet spot with great coffee, solid food, and a warm,...

What a charmer! Sage is a gem in downtown Columbia. I stopped in for breakfast and tried many items, taking some home to family. Their regular brewed coffee was a standout for starters, and the almond cardamom cake was so delicious it almost didn't make the trip home for others to try! The brisket with peppers and onions and scrambled eggs was a unique menu item I had to try and was so glad I did: winner! Same for their avocado toast -- lots of restaurants offer this, but few elevate it the way Sage does. Delicious and gorgeous. Finally, the entire sampling of pastries (peach croissant (so beautiful), chocolate croissant and almond croissant) were flaky, flavorful and fantastic. All of this served by friendly staff in a beautiful venue with marble tables, velvet banquette and exposed brick wall with hip, soothing ambient music. Well done, Sage! ...

I stopped in for a coffee one day and the atmosphere was extremely open and welcoming. The staff was very friendly and patient with me when I could decide. On another occasion after i brought the coffee I wanted my friends to try it so we stopped in for some food. Not only was it fast service and the staff welcoming again but the food was AMAZING the Biscuits and Gravy had amazing flavor I was worried for the rosemary but didn’t even notice it, it was beautifully brought together and tasted amazing. My friends loved their ricotta avocado toast as well telling me everything perfectly paired together. I definitely recommend if you wanted an all over amazing experience at a coffee shop because Sage now be my go to....

Sage is my favorite coffee shop in town by far. I ADORE the staff here, always so welcoming and truly take the time to engage and learn names. The atmosphere is adorable and cozy, great for working remotely or catching up with friends. I love the rotating seasonal drinks and get excited to try all of the new menu additions when they arrive. It's an added bonus that the food here is amazing as well. I've loved everything I've tried but tend to grab the quiche because it's incredible!

Absolutely loved this place! Went with my sister, our first time. I got an Ombre Latte, my sister got an affogato and the Almond Cardamom Tea cake, made by the OWNER!!! Everything was delicious. The service here, it's top notch, super sweet and very helpful. All about customer service and quality at Sage 👌🏻 Can't wait to go back!
