The Jamaican Jerk Chicken has always been to die for. Have been going there for years and is one of my favorite restaurants. Saturday my wife and I ordered our normal order and I was kind of shocked how spicy the chicken was. I'm sure it is easy to over spice food especially if the restaurant is busy. Waiter asked how everything was and I responded "Way to spicy" and that we need more water. My wife tolerates heat better than I do and she reluctantly ate all of hers, but wasn't super happy with it. I ate maybe a 1/4 of mine and couldn't eat anymore. The hostess came over and asked if we were done and again I mentioned I couldn't eat the meal since it was so spicy. Her response was, "Some people's taste buds are just different." Sure, but I have had this dish probably 50 times and always incredible. Waiter brings bill and knows I'm not happy with the meal or service. Never heard anything about sorry it wasn't to your liking or see what I can do for you. I reluctantly paid the bill and tipped fairly well. May be awhile...
Read moreI've been hesitant to post this because I don't want to seem demonstrative towards small business. I went to Tellers last night with my girl and co workers all who are either Black or Brown.
It was my first time there and they all are telling me what a great place this is. After putting the order in, I happen to turn around and see a roach.
We killed the roach and I waived my waiter over. Pointed to it and said there's a roach we had to kill. White dude, looked at me and said "I've worked here 10+ years and never seen a roach" and walked away.
Now I'm dumbfounded because if you've never seen a roach in this place why didn't you immediately pick up the dead roach and apologize. I couldn't help but think if I had on a suit on or been white would his response to me had been the same? So he came back by twice and never once picked it up. So finally I ask to speak to a manager because it was like he didn't want to talk to us and figure what the OBVIOUS problem was. The manager tried her best to smooth it over but safe to say I won't...
Read moreMy daughter has spent a total of about six years at MU in Columbia obtaining her undergrad, then as of recent, her Master's degree. As anyone with a child at college in Columbia can acknowledge they've eaten at about every restaurant in the town. We LOVE Tellers. But, we HATE their delivery service. The day of her graduation ceremonies we ordered from Tellers and went about our many activities that every family enjoys around that day. The delivery service didn't bother to call right back to say they weren't delivering, no, they waited until it was time for the food to be delivered! I am coming to Columbia tomorrow and mentioned again we hadn't had a celebration yet. My daughter said she'd rather us fix something at her house and not let the delivery service ruin Tellers good food by delivering it cold!! Wake up Tellers, you're...
