We have just left this place for the last time. We have been frequent visitors of this place and have never had the experience that we had today. We ordered our regular drinks and the margarita came out nasty. The waitress was super sweet and fixed it for us. Then the chips that came with our trio dip were chewy. The table beside us sent theirs back for the same reason. The second round of chips was a little better. We ate and were about to leave as a homeless man approached our outside tables. The group of ladies next to us offered to buy him a taco. He sat down at a designated the table and the ladies brought him their chips and some napkins to get him started. They let their waitress know he was ordering on their tab. The security guy walking Main St. stopped by his table to make sure everything was good. They recognized each other and the man agreed to leave after eating. We stopped by the table of ladies to give them some extra money to get him another taco and left. As we were waiting at the light in front of the business, the manager Jason came out yelling at the man eating chips at the table. He then took the basket of chips from the man and told him to leave. When the ladies at the table next to him informed him he was with them and waiting for his food, he said he understood what they were trying to do, but he was not welcome there and would have to take his food togo. I am from Atlanta and have never witnessed a manager treating any paying customer as Jason treated this man. I will make sure I tell everyone I know and post everywhere I can about the awful and uncalled for way this man was treated today. No matter what your status is, money is money right?! If he is paying, he deserves the exact same service as the next paying customer. How dare the manager Jason take it upon himself to degrade this man. We have had our last meal...
Read morei visited this location earlier today and was very disappointed by both the food and the service. i don’t usually write reviews, but this experience has been on my mind all day. for one, the food was honestly terrible! everything was overly salty to the point where one meal here felt like it could cause every salt related health issue imaginable. the tortillas were sticking to my teeth and the chips were stale. on top of the other items that we ordered, we also ordered the street corn, which tasted like nothing but lime. our waiter was very kind and attentive, and i truly appreciated that. when we mentioned that the food wasn’t great, he offered to get the manager to see what could be done. unfortunately, that’s when things got worse. the manager (a heavy set white male) was extremely rude and dismissive. he approached our table and said, “is there something wrong with the food, or do you just not like it?” i explained that the food was overly salty and stale, and mentioned that the street corn just tasted like lime. his response was, “yeah, it has lime in it.” obviously, i know that but if i wanted to just taste lime, i would’ve just ordered one. before the person that i was with could explain what was wrong with their order, the manager walked away mid-sentence. i’m leaving two stars solely because of our waiter, who genuinely tried his best. unfortunately, i don’t think i’ll be returning until they start cutting back on the salt, invest in some new seasonings, and perhaps add a few days of management training to improve their...
Read moreWent for an early lunch while walking around Soda City Market and with only 2 tables seated inside, the hostess was hesitant to sit my family inside, which included 2 high chairs indoors. It was 85° and still early, so we pushed back and pointed out a table that we thought would work so as to not block any walkway. The hostess rolled her eyes and walked towards the back. After a few minutes she and another coworker came out with two high chairs and sat them at the end of a four top, as we suggested.
We were slightly uncomfortable, but happy to be seated before the lunch rush. When we got to the table we were not given menus and it wasn't until our server came to take our drink order that she mentioned a QR code. After a few minutes of looking at PDF with poorly chosen font for a mobile view, she came back to take our orders. She asked if we wanted to order anything off the kids menu. We didn't know there was a kids menu, because it was not on the PDF from the QR code. She then mentioned a few items that were specific for children and we ordered.
The food here was pretty good. Fresh tortillas, salsa was nice, everything came out all together and hot. However, every single item is incredibly cilantro-heavy. I like a lot of cilantro, so it tasted delicious to me. But for other guests in my party it was overwhelming and ruined a few dishes.
I definitely would like to try cantina 76 again, but maybe I'll try another location instead, one that has respectful staff members and...
