Edit 6/13/17: I have been back a few times now and the tacos are consistently good (and the BBQ brisket one is good when the meat is done correctly!). For that, I am adding 1 star to this review. I have gone with their chips and salsa and they are both good, they are not anything better than any other Mexican restaurant for free and certainly not warranting any price (currently about $3.50!). Tacos were priced well for the size and makeup of them. I got the Traditional, Peruvian Shrimp, and BBQ Brisket tacos. The shrimp taco was my favorite and was recommended by the waitress. The brisket however was very dry and quite tough which was disappointing as I had heard it normally is quite good. Beans and rice were extra as well (did not get any) Chips and salsa really should be a freebie while you wait instead of paying for it. Charge for the other dips, but let's get some of the basics out in the table while people wait. Very dog friendly which is a great plus for me and my big pup! Greeted by all the wait staff and brought out water dish for him as well. Overall, the food was ok for the price, wait staff did a good job and the location was nice. I think that some basic improvement could be made to the menu items to bring the quality up a little higher for being a restaurant on Main Street.

First visit Oct 2022 - Passing through Columbia and picked this place at random on Main St. for a place to have lunch. The service and food was excellent. The mild salsa we chose to have with the chips was outstanding. The menu is set up so you can mix and match different items like the tacos and enchiladas. You also have to order the chips separately. I ordered blackened shrimp tacos with a chicken enchilada supreme with verde sauce. We also had vegetarian tacos. The verde sauce was the best I ever had. I thought the total cost was comparable to other Mexican restaurants, but the quality of the food was much better at Catina 76. Looking forward to returning and trying the margaritas and dinner. Second visit in Feb 2023 - We attempted to try the other location at Devine St, but parking was tough so we proceeded to the same location we ate at last time which is on Main St. Our waitress, Ashley, was great. I thought I was trying something different, but had the chicken enchilada with verde sauce again. 😂 I also had a special which was a grouper taco. Everything was excellent like the prior visit.

I must say, Cantina76 is for various occasions. Whether you’re out with family, friends, or colleagues, Cantina 76 caters to all. It’s a go-to spot for young professionals, college students, and anyone seeking a lively atmosphere. The tacos and other dishes are equally impressive. The menu boasts a wide assortment of imaginative tacos, enchiladas, nachos, salads, quesadillas, chimichangas, and soups. Each dish is full of fresh, unique ingredients. I particularly enjoyed the roasted chicken and brisket tacos—they were flavorful and satisfying. The cocktails are an absolute highlight! hand-crafted margaritas with fresh lime juice, and strawberries. Atmosphere: Now, here’s the catch. Cantina 76 is always bustling. While that’s a testament to its popularity, it can be a double-edged sword. Yes, it’s a good sign that people love the place, but the downside is the wait. Be prepared to exercise patience during peak hours. 😁

We have just left this place for the last time. We have been frequent visitors of this place and have never had the experience that we had today. We ordered our regular drinks and the margarita came out nasty. The waitress was super sweet and fixed it for us. Then the chips that came with our trio dip were chewy. The table beside us sent theirs back for the same reason. The second round of chips was a little better. We ate and were about to leave as a homeless man approached our outside tables. The group of ladies next to us offered to buy him a taco. He sat down at a designated the table and the ladies brought him their chips and some napkins to get him started. They let their waitress know he was ordering on their tab. The security guy walking Main St. stopped by his table to make sure everything was good. They recognized each other and the man agreed to leave after eating. We stopped by the table of ladies to give them some extra money to get him another taco and left. As we were waiting at the light in front of the business, the manager Jason came out yelling at the man eating chips at the table. He then took the basket of chips from the man and told him to leave. When the ladies at the table next to him informed him he was with them and waiting for his food, he said he understood what they were trying to do, but he was not welcome there and would have to take his food togo. I am from Atlanta and have never witnessed a manager treating any paying customer as Jason treated this man. I will make sure I tell everyone I know and post everywhere I can about the awful and uncalled for way this man was treated today. No matter what your status is, money is money right?! If he is paying, he deserves the exact same service as the next paying customer. How dare the manager Jason take it upon himself to degrade this man. We have had our last meal...

i visited this location earlier today and was very disappointed by both the food and the service. i don’t usually write reviews, but this experience has been on my mind all day. for one, the food was honestly terrible! everything was overly salty to the point where one meal here felt like it could cause every salt related health issue imaginable. the tortillas were sticking to my teeth and the chips were stale. on top of the other items that we ordered, we also ordered the street corn, which tasted like nothing but lime. our waiter was very kind and attentive, and i truly appreciated that. when we mentioned that the food wasn’t great, he offered to get the manager to see what could be done. unfortunately, that’s when things got worse. the manager (a heavy set white male) was extremely rude and dismissive. he approached our table and said, “is there something wrong with the food, or do you just not like it?” i explained that the food was overly salty and stale, and mentioned that the street corn just tasted like lime. his response was, “yeah, it has lime in it.” obviously, i know that but if i wanted to just taste lime, i would’ve just ordered one. before the person that i was with could explain what was wrong with their order, the manager walked away mid-sentence. i’m leaving two stars solely because of our waiter, who genuinely tried his best. unfortunately, i don’t think i’ll be returning until they start cutting back on the salt, invest in some new seasonings, and perhaps add a few days of management training to improve their...

Went for an early lunch while walking around Soda City Market and with only 2 tables seated inside, the hostess was hesitant to sit my family inside, which included 2 high chairs indoors. It was 85° and still early, so we pushed back and pointed out a table that we thought would work so as to not block any walkway. The hostess rolled her eyes and walked towards the back. After a few minutes she and another coworker came out with two high chairs and sat them at the end of a four top, as we suggested.

We were slightly uncomfortable, but happy to be seated before the lunch rush. When we got to the table we were not given menus and it wasn't until our server came to take our drink order that she mentioned a QR code. After a few minutes of looking at PDF with poorly chosen font for a mobile view, she came back to take our orders. She asked if we wanted to order anything off the kids menu. We didn't know there was a kids menu, because it was not on the PDF from the QR code. She then mentioned a few items that were specific for children and we ordered.

The food here was pretty good. Fresh tortillas, salsa was nice, everything came out all together and hot. However, every single item is incredibly cilantro-heavy. I like a lot of cilantro, so it tasted delicious to me. But for other guests in my party it was overwhelming and ruined a few dishes.

I definitely would like to try cantina 76 again, but maybe I'll try another location instead, one that has respectful staff members and...
