Gateway Pizza — Restaurant in Columbia

This was the absolute WORST experience I have ever had while trying to order food from a new restaurant. I will NEVER order from this place again! If you have the option, order from Roma's! At least they are honest about the services they offer!

I placed an order through the OrderUp at to be placed at Rovia's Bistro at 6pm. I received a confirmation email that my order was received and would be delivered at the location I had put in the address bar. By 6:40pm, I called the location to find out where my food is. I was told, "We do not deliver to that area." Why would you advertise your business in an area you do not deliver to? I had no intentions of carrying out my food, I had just gotten off of work and this became more of a headache than I have ever expected. I told them I had already PAID for tip and delivery and that I still want my food to delivered. The manager REFUSED to deliver my food that I had ordered over an hour ago! Instead of trying to rectify the situation, he assured me that it was not his problem! What kind of service is that?

At this point, I am already furious and it is now 7:10pm. I told them I wanted to be refunded my tip and delivery fee and would go pick up the food since the food was already ready. Simple right?

Wrong! They cancelled my order and refunded me the entire amount. I get a call telling me my entire balance was refunded AFTER I was already halfway to the location. Mind you, this location is within 5 miles of the food location. I get there and they tell me I need to pay AGAIN when I had already had the order prepaid. Not only did I have to pay again, since my payment was re-credited to my account thanks to this restaurant I had to Re-order everything I had order. Great!

I asked the man if I need to actually customize what I had ordered AGAIN because it was already ready and he INSISTED I had to. I showed him the confirmation on my phone and he looked at my cell phone for at least a minute to make sure I wasn't lying about replacing the order.

My food was cold and mediocre. If I hadn't already wasted an hour and half of time at this location, I would have ordered elsewhere. I don't normally take the time to review locations such at these, but this was an extremely poor experience. Steer...

They screw up every order. Every. Single. Time. You give them specific instructions and they never bother to read it. It was so bad that I started calling after I place an order to verify the details and any specific requests.

Tonight I ordered a white pizza, no tomatoes because of a food allergy, and a panini with blue cheese on the side. I even called to verify they received that and the specific requests. It took over an hour for them to deliver the food. It arrived and there were tomatoes on my pizza and no blue cheese on the side. Had I not seen this and eaten those tomatoes, I would have had a reaction and needed medical attention.

I tried Rovia's Bistro for the first time yesterday...but it definitely won't be my last. It was recommended by a friend. I pass by there a lot but because it's kind of hidden from the road I didn't know it was there. I had the Havana Havana panini. It was like heaven in my mouth! It came with french fries which were also delicious. They definitely don't skimp on their portions either. The sandwich was packed full of deliciousness. I also want to say that the customer service was top notch. There were 3 men working and they were all very friendly and welcoming. They brought our food to our table. And the older of the 3 came over to check on us and asked if we needed anything. I can't wait...
