Bagel Bin & Deli — Restaurant in Maryland

Columbia is such a weird place if you don't live there. I was looking for breakfast near a job I was early for, and I couldn't see this place on google maps until I was in the Starbucks parking lot. Once I saw that it was near, I skipped Starbucks to patronize this small business. It still was not easy to find and they aren not on the the shopping center sign post. The inside of this place is nothing special, it is old and kind of dingy. I had a jalapeno, bacon and cheddar eggel and and iced coffee, and it was great. The bagel was fresh and spicy, the sandwich was well made though the bacon seemed like it may have been pre-cooked shelf stable bacon. Overall it was good, great from such an unassuming place. The prices on their menu board are out of date, but if you are local I guess you know that. What I was really impressed with, and why I left this review was the iced coffee. MUCH higher quality that I was expecting from a place like this, better even than the Starbucks that shares the shopping center. They make it to order, I believe with an aeropress, and it is well worth it. If you find yourself here and need a bite to eat or breakfast, don't be put off by the appearance, it is a quality...

I’m not sure how this place is rated so highly. I don’t like leaving negative reviews but I felt like this was necessary.

I ordered a chicken salad melt on an everything bagel to go and coffee. The coffee was lukewarm, watered down, and hard to get. Then, I received a grilled chicken melt with some spicy sauce. Didn’t realize until I came home, which of course I could have checked before I left. No biggie. I call and they said to bring the original back and they’d make me a new one.

I brought it back and they made me the correct thing but there was hardly any chicken salad on it and it tasted old. Not sure if they are allowed to keep the one I returned or not but I feel like that’s gross to do…I didn’t touch it but how do they know that?

Not to mention, the place looks like it’s halfway shut down.

I am sure this place has good items, but unfortunately I do not know. I place an order with DoorDash for a bagel with cream cheese- the order was labeled BAGEL with cream cheese. Under the bread type options they had wheat. Since the order was called BAGEL with cream cheese I assumed they meant wheat bagel so I ordered that. What I got was cream cheese on toast. If I was working there I would have called the customer to check the order since people do not typically place an order for a BAGEL with cream cheese and expect cream cheese on toast- which is what I got. I have wasted money and I see that if I ever want to try this place again- I need to go there so I can verify that my bagel with cream cheese is in fact a BAGEL with cream cheese.
