I decided to give this place another go last week. We had a party of about 14. I came during dinner time so no complaints about food quality this time around. We had no waitress for the majority of our time there. We had to get up and go to the waiter's station to ask for drink refills, condiments, etc. Another waitress and waiter stepped in to take care of us and I commend them for doing so especially since they had their own sections to tend to. As we were getting ready to go we were told that our waitress had to leave because of personal issues. I understand that life happens but management should have stepped in to make sure everyone in her section were taken care of. Other than customer service I had no other issues until I went to get an ice cream cone before I headed out and saw a roach scurrying across the lid. The woman serving the ice cream tried to swat it away quickly as if we didn't notice. I could have gotten over the situation with the waitress but after seeing a bug I just cant do this place anymore at all.
This was my first and probably my last time visiting golden corral. We normally go to Ryan's but my daughter asked to come here for her birthday and despite all of the negative reviews I chose to come anyway. When walking in the door we were greeted by the cashier. When it was time to pay, the woman at the register, Lisa Kelley (who wore a management team shirt) decided she needed to finish her conversation before ringing us up. Some plates and silverware weren't completely clean and being that most buffets don't wash dishes by hand I excused it. The food was horrible. The food was hard as if it had been sitting out since lunch started. When leaving, I asked for the number to corporate, Lisa immediately caught an attitude. Then she storms off to go talk about me to another person on the management team, Dave Cook. She wrote down the number of corporate on a card and threw my receipt away. I'm no fool, I know what that was about. He was much easier to talk to. He told me that fresh food was being put out but by this time I'm annoyed and ready to go. It seems like what happened is that they were waiting on the dinner crowd to come in before changing the food. I was very disappointed in my first visit here. My party of 3 went to Golden Corral on Forest Drive, Columbia, South Carolina for Breakfast on Saturday. The food was great but kept running out of food quickly. It was just too good to keep up. I give a high five to all the cooks and bakers!! Great food! It's best to go early if you decide to go. The service was not so great. Actually not great at all. Walked in and there were no smiles. It was like they didn't want to be there at all. We sat down and waited a few to meet the waiter but no one showed... so I went to go get a plate for my child. Came back, still no waiter. Then one for myself. Came back, Still no waiter... Then my dad went to get his plate and came back. Still no waiter. My dad waited around for a good 15 minutes for coffee. No waiter came by our table. My dad ended up getting up and going to get his own coffee from the machine. Which definitely made my decision on the rating this time. We did notice a waiter behind us telling some customers a story which is no problem at all. It's great customer service to take time out to show that they matter. But when he was done he walked right by us. I was thinking ok maybe he's not our waiter. So I asked my dad if he wanted creamer and sugar and he said yes so I got up and approached the same waiter that was telling the story and mentioned to him that we have been here for a while and I didn't know who was our waiter and he mentions to me that he was our waiter. I asked for some creamer and sugar. Which he gave me. He showed his face a few times to pick up some things at the table or give refills but that's it. He never introduced himself or wrote his name on our receipt or came over to talk to us. He kept walking past us multiple times before I approached him. Extremely poor customer service at least to us.
I don't know the waiters name. We sat on the left side of the dining room on the far wall if you're looking at the parking lot. I do remember he was wearing glasses.
ALSO, I do want to say how terrible the women's bathroom looks! It looks like it flooded in there and all of the stalls are warping and coming apart! I know it's been like this for quite some time. So if you do have to go... be cautious. You don't know if your door is going to fall off the hinge(s)...
Read moreWent to GC yesterday to eat, only reason I had not eaten any real food since Sunday past. Even then the food I ate was terrible. Anyways GC was closest place to eat. So I went. It close in approximity Well everyone else is saying the food is over cooked this may be true to some extent, the other part they may have not thought of the food is over cooked cause it's been cooked already, it recooked because the food is left overs. Perhaps 2 or 3days or little longer. Definitely taste processed as well. Everything has pork in it. The fruit was fresh fruit mixed w old fruit that's spoiled. Alot of stuff at the salad bar has other kinds of little food their buckets. So I didn't eat alot of the extra toppings to put on My salad. The other customers did not use the sanitary gloves to serve their selves their foods, after serving their selves and not using sanitary gloves the tongs ends ìn the each dish wish is unsanitary. The rug is a big damn drab. It stinks so bad. When I walked in their after paying I was like what is that smell. I was like something doesn't smell right. So I know haven't eaten. Moved away from being close to any bathroom but it wasn't that it was smell thru out the restaurant. GC just opened,( remind You of this). Said that to say this, why was the food so horrible? I mean HORRIBLE, not only HORRIBLE, but was was the food not HOT 🔥? NOT FRESH.This is a all You can eat so it shouldn't be any leftovers really? They had cooked leftovers served it to the customers, talking g about fried foods and stuff. Mixing leftovers w so called fresh food. Question, why is the cat fush when eating it so soft, like way to soft, it has no firmness even after being fried and served. I can tell. Before one time came there the baked or broiled chicken was no good. Nope won't be going back I do expect a refund. They need to clean out those drains so it doesn't smell in there, the water is starting to taste funny. The health department needs to do a health inspection. Cause the romaine salad tasted funny because they use the water to wash them off. The need to start leaving last time restaurants had a health inspection on the front doors of the restaurants.
